Found Deceased UK - Frankie Morris, 18, bike found Pentir Bangor, North Wales, 2 May 2021

Detectives continue to investigate the whereabouts of Frantisek “Frankie” Morris, last seen in this image near the Vaynol Arms, Pentir at 1.12pm on Sunday 2nd May.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Boycott said: ‘We are really grateful to the community for the hundreds of phone calls and online reports we have received in response to our previous appeals. As a result we are examining numerous different lines of enquiry.

‘I would like to appeal directly to anyone who attended a rave in the disused quarry above Waunfawr on Saturday 1st May, who hasn’t already come forward to do so. I understand people may be reluctant due to the fact that the rave was not an organised event, but I would like to reassure you that we are only concerned in piecing together as much information about Frankie’s movements as possible.

‘If you attended the rave, and you have any photos or video whatsoever on your mobile, or you have any information however small that may help us, you can visit Public Portal You will be able to pass on information or upload images / video directly to the investigation team in complete anonymity.

‘Residents in Pentir will have noticed an increased police presence in the area over recent days, which will continue. If you were in the area on Sunday 2nd May, and may have seen Frankie please get in touch, especially if you have dashcam or any other form of video.

‘Finally, I would ask residents in Pentir and the surrounding areas to check any sheds or outbuildings on their land, and contact us if you find anything out of the ordinary.’

Specially trained officers continue to support Frankie’s family at this difficult time.

Hi, I'm local to this area.

It makes sense Frankie walking Norman Lane, this does eventually take you to Bangor, you come out on a road that if you take the right you end up in Bangor, which Frankie would most likely have taken, if he made it this far, as this would be the way he could walk home/catch a bus or lift/head towards the High Street, if you turn left you will come across a supermarket, McDonald's, retail stores, B&Q, Halfords and the A55.
Waunfawr to Pentir is about 2 hours to walk - Frankie would likely have been tired particularly if he didn't leave the rave till 11am. imo

A good timeline of events from the family.
FACTS SO FAR....
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU CONTACT US OR 101.
I am writing this post to explain the facts so far. As we are repeating ourselves a lot and there is so much speculation. We really appreciate everyone's help so far. You have all been absolutely amazing.

So as we know Frankie Morris was at a party Saturday the 1st of May in the mountains in Waunfawr. He road his dad's bike to meet some friends, (which got a flat tyre on the way). He then left the bike somewhere (in a location unknown to us) then got a lift to the party. The people he got a lift to the party with left sometime before him. Frankie then left this party at around 11.00am on Sunday the 2nd of May (NOT 7AM). As one of his friends from the party has a photo of him at this time before he left. He left the party on his own. The party site and whole area has been checked by mountain rescue and police and family and friends.

Frankie must of then been to collect his bike and began to walk back towards Anglesey/ Bangor. As his bike had a flat tyre he pushed it along. He was then spotted on CCTV walking through Brynrefail at 12.07pm. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and blue shorts. Yes, he was spotted wearing a coat and jumper at the party. The coat did not belong to him and the jumper has not been located. We then have more CCTV footage of Frankie walking towards Penisa'r Waun. After this at 1.22pm there is footage of Frankie walking past the Vaynol Pub in Pentir. There was speculation that he looked hurt in previous CCTV but this footage confirms he was not!! (Please see pics below).

His bike was then placed behind a wall down the road by Pont Felin in Pentir. So Frankie could of headed in a few directions from here. Police have searched this area with mountains rescue. There has also been a international search team with dogs and drones. Nothing has been found. There was a witness that saw some youths on the bridge at 1.45pm with bikes, this may have had something to do with Frankie or may not. Nothing has been confirmed.

I would also like to point out that his phone has been checked and it has been dead since last weekend so that is no use and there is nothing that can be traced on that front. All hospitals have of course been checked. His bank has not been used since before the party. Police are continuing to check all these things.

Also a lot of people are mentioning his friends and people at the party. All his close friends are in daily contact with family and are helping as much as they can and they too have not seen him. In addition, lot's of people from the party have been very helpful and have provided us with lot's of photos and information.

Please only contact us or 101 if you have information that you believe is truly relevant or is something that is not mentioned above. We really really appreciate everyone's help you have all been so kind and helpful. Its' now the 12th of May, 11 whole days since Frankie was last spotted :( we are all devastated.

Thank you. This is very helpful information. I sincerely hope this is going to turn out good.

What is the terrain like on that route?

I see there is a river Norman Lane crosses over. Is it deep?

Temperatures were quite low that night and during the day, he was only dressed in a t-shirt and shorts...at the party he seemed to have borrowed some clothes from others, signals to me it was chilly. He partied all night into the morning, walked with the bike quite a distance...must have been very tired, so have felt even more cold. Maybe also alcohol was in the game...lowers your body-temperature even more. Very concerning. Or was he trained for that/used to it? First thing that comes to mind him thinking when leaving his bike behind: get in the warmth, get clothes and sleep. An other explanation, him not feeling the cold and being tired, could be, he was in an altered state. Is known if he took drugs at the rave party? All the more worrying....reminder....no judgment here.

Norman Lane is a country lane to me, you pass houses , fields and farms, pass through 2 villages and over A55.

Afon Cegin, not so deep, some would describe it more as a 'ditch' in parts. Where bike was left, Frankie would have still followed road most likely - appears bike was left as it was becoming a nuisance to push imo

The quarry, the only one I can think of from the top of my head is Parc Gwledig Padarn but this is in Llanberis, but you can drive to a part of it from Waunfawr, there's a few quarries around and about including Vivian Quarry. They can be steep in areas and slippy if wet.

I live on Ynys Mon, and to get to these areas its only 30 - 45 minutes, I'm heading that way tomorrow, will take pics if I can to show you.

Edited by me for clarity

I thought that he lived Anglesey? Why was he heading to Bangor instead of going back to his own home?

Thousands of people are involved in a search for a teenager who disappeared after going to a rave at a disused quarry in Gwynedd.

Frantisek "Frankie" Morris, 18, was last seen the day after, on Sunday, 2 May, caught on CCTV pushing his bike near the Vaynol Arms, Pentir.

Hundreds have joined the search, with volunteers using drones and dogs, along with many more sharing details online.

Frankie's brother says the family, from Llandegfan, Anglesey, is "distraught".

"Frankie is a bit of a drifter, he does go out some days and my dad doesn't hear from him, but nothing this long," said Robin, describing his brother as "outgoing" and someone who enjoys walking in the hills.

There's 2 bridges to get onto Ynys Mon - Britannia Bridge, but thats off the A55 and busy - the easiest one to get to from where he appears to have been walking is Menai Bridg/Telford Suspension Bridge, much nicer and you can walk over this using pavements. Bangor does bus service to where he lives
