Another disappearance with a located vehicle. Its been over a week now and concern is raised for the welfare of Jamie.

last seen at ATS in Okenhalt Flint, 19.42. His car was left near the ATS as he had trouble with his tyre.
Wearing black t shirt, black shorts and trainers with a thin black jacket.
If a black vape or audi keys are found contact police.
This is completely out of character for him and he has never done anything like this before.

We have good CCTV of Jamie buying a bottle of water at a shop in flint near the ATS, where he bought a bottle of water with his bank card.

Also noteworthy in this case is a possible sighting of Jamie from an elderly lady, matching Jamies description behind her house roughly around 8pm. This does fit in Jamies timeline from the CCTV. What is behind this ladies house is a big woodland with really overgrown tall grasses. Despite searches Jamie still has not been found.

Edited by me for focus.

Are you sure he bought the water in Flint? Again, I can find no reference to this elsewhere. My understanding is that the transaction took place in Connah's Quay, and that Jamie then travelled to Flint, where his car was picked up on ANPR cameras a few minutes after he bought the water. I use the phrase "my understanding" loosely - the information I can glean from social media on this intriguing case is confusing to say the least.

Do we know why he travelled to Flint in the first place?

Jamie Grimwood is 23 years old and went missing on Monday 23 August from Runcorn in Cheshire. He was captured on CCTV at a garage in Connah’s Quay at 19:30hrs and left at 19:36hrs. The last confirmed sighting was at 19:42hrs near ATS in Chester Road in Flint, Flintshire, where his car was later found.

Described as approximately 5ft 9in in height, of slim build, Jamie was last seen wearing a black jacket, black t-shirt, black shorts and black trainers.

If you have any sightings or information, please contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference Z124541. Alternatively use their online reporting service https://orlo.uk/

Jamie has a young son at home. As far as i have read he has never been to Flint and certainly doesnt have any connections to the area.

*Update*

What we know so far! (06.09.2021)

Monday 23rd of August 2021

19.30pm Jamie was seen on cctv at a Sainsbury’s on the go garage in Connahs Quay he purchased a bottle of water and a SIM card for a mobile phone. He left at 19.36pm

He then drove past an ANPR camera in Oakenholt at 19.40pm

He was then seen on CCTV driving Past The Crescent Chippy in flint (opposite the ATS) at 19.42pm

He was then seen again on CCTV driving down into flint past tesco express, did a u turn in the road outside Tesco at 19.46pm

When we see him turn around he has a space saver / spare wheel on his front right wheel which he had on the car when he left home.

We then don’t see him again until he pulls into logistics recruitment specialists (in between ATS and the Fire Station in flint) which is where his car was left at 20.14pm he had changed his front right wheel which is what we think he was doing in the gap between 19.46pm and 20.14pm someone must have seen him change it.

Car was found in logistics recruitment specialists car park on Tuesday the 24th of August at 13.45pm by Jamie’s dad (Lee) and Aunty (Steph) his phone and both SIM cards were still inside the car and have been checked by family and police. The SIM card he purchased from the Sainsbury’s in Connahs Quay had not been removed from the packed or used at all.

The family believe that all Jamie had with him was a large black ecig, his bank card and his Audi car keys (All if these are items of interest)

Everything in this post has come directly from Jamie’s Mum and Dad, this is all fact and is everything we have to go on so far from cctv and over avenues of enquiry by the family and police. We are still waiting for more cctv to try and determine where Jaime may have changed his tyre and where he went after he left his car.

This post will be pinned at the top of this Facebook page and will be used as a reference for any questions. if and when we receive more information I will do another of these posts with an update!

As only Jamies audi keys and black vap are missing. A black vap has been seen on a wall at Chester train platform 4/6. Not determined its Jamies.

This is a puzzle and a half, so much information- yet no indication of what’s happened at all.

So JG leaves Runcorn and drives 25 miles to Flint on a doughnut spare not using the shortest route but preferring to go through Connahs Quay and then proceeds up the B5129 which merges into the Chester Road which runs through Flint (a portion of it is the High Street).
He is later seen pulling in to Transport Logistics with the tire replaced.
Does it make sense to travel 25 miles to Flint and only then change the tire?
JG could have been picking up a repaired wheel but there are no tire shops between Tesco Express and Transport Logistics.
Flint has a narrow High Street and it’s not really possible to stop and change a tire there without causing an obstruction, there is the Flint railway station car park opposite Tesco Express or maybe the ALDI parking lot a few yards down.

Flint railway station does have cctv

I suspect ALDI car park has some kind of cctv also.

I've been following this one closely on social media, and there certainly are some intriguing "unknowns". The information about the Nissan Qashqai certainly seems like it could be significant, and I'd be surprised if the police don't know more about it than they are letting on.

Thank you to those who shared our appeal yesterday to trace the occupants of a Nissan Qashqai in the search for Jamie.

We have now spoken to the owners of the vehicle, who have been eliminated from our enquiries.

However, we still have concerns for Jamie and are appealing to anyone who has seen him to get in touch.

He is 5ft 9”, has dark blond hair and is understood to be wearing a black top and black shorts.

He has been missing from the Runcorn area since Monday, August 23rd.

His car, a dark grey Audi with black wheels and silver roof rails, was found parked in a car park next to the fire station on Chester Street, Flint, opposite the junction of Park Avenue on August 23rd.

We are now appealing to anyone who was driving along Chester Road on that day, who may have seen Jamie, or his car, and may have captured dashcam footage to contact us immediately.

Anyone with information is urged to get in touch on 101, or via the website, quoting iTrace reference 39334.

There are F&F on the FB search group posted a few comments above that have seemingly confirmed that JG had an MOT booked on Wednesday 25th Aug and had fixed an issue with his front tyre/wheel in readiness for that. This repaired wheel was in his boot awaiting its being fixed back on, which I assume he planned to do prior to his MOT appointment. As a result, whilst the wheel was being fixed, he had resorted to a space saver replacement.

The other thing mentioned on that group is that he “left in a rush”, which might explain why he didn’t elect to replace the space saver with the repaired proper wheel before setting off.

The fact he did stop to change it en route could suggest he may have experienced drivability issues later in his journey, which persuaded him to change the space saver in Flint. This might also explain the u-turn near Tesco Express, as the road at that point starts to turn into a quicker road out of town - perhaps he spotted a few viable spots to change his wheel along his route through Flint towards the Tesco, doubled back at that point (19:46) to opt for one.

The above post by the parents indicates that he had changed the wheel before arriving at the recruitment place in between the fire station and ATS at 20:14, so yes the ALDI car park is one option, being a large space between the Tesco and the recruitment place.

It might even be that he pulled into the recruitment place shortly after leaving the ALDI car park if he still sensed issues and wanted a second look? Perhaps the water he bought was to wash his hands with, perhaps it was to drink - there has been no mention, to my knowledge, of the bottle being found in the car.

All of this said, there is another road (Castle Road), very near the U-turn location, that leads out over the railway line down towards the castle, coast, Flint Town rugby club and a recycling centre, with open spaces and car parks that could also have been used to change a wheel in more ‘peace’ than a supermarket car park.

The other thing that troubles me is the purchase of the additional SIM. Could it be that he was planning on being out of contact from those who knew him, maybe after leaving “in a rush”? Not sure how much I can post of this but it’s all on the FB search group posted above, and - leaving motives aside for a moment - leaving in a rush could at least explain why he hadn’t first changed his wheel before setting off.

EDIT: F&F and Admin of the Fb search group has confirmed that JG’s car was found with a seized front brake, suggesting JG did indeed abandon the car. Another F&F has confirmed Flint railway CCTV has been checked to see if JG tried to use alternative means of travel but has not been spotted on there, nor has his bank card been used since purchasing the water and SIM.
