Deceased/Not Found UK - Janet Brown, 45, Hexham, Northumberland, June 2005 *D. Graham guilty*

This guy is so brazen they should check his wife's backyard

I found this article from June 11th, which said Donald Graham has declined to testify in his own defence.

I'd disappointed but can't say I'm surprised. I don't know how intelligent he is, but he certainly seems manipulative and able to present himself in the best light he can, even when that means staying silent.

It says defence witnesses are following, but I guess they are mostly character witnesses and media's found their testimony too boring to cover.

bbm

not salacious enough I am guessing. Well they (reporters) could spice it up with an interview with his wife from 2005 - I bet she'd have something interesting to say.

'Killer Donald Graham is facing decades behind bars after he was convicted of murdering a missing heiress.

Justice today finally caught up with Graham, almost exactly nine years after he killed lover Janet Brown for her money.'

And Finally, a picture of Graham. Thank you Daily Mail. Nothing like I imagined - he looks like a gangster to me!

From the Mail, family statement:

They said: 'We would like to say that we are pleased with the verdict. The last four years have been very difficult for us, dealing with the aftermath of these events.

'We are very grateful for the professionalism of Northumbria Police and for their extraordinarily thorough and detailed investigation of events over this period.

'Our sincere thanks go to the investigation team, and in particular, we would like to thank our police liaison officers for all their help and support that they have given us during the investigation.

'We are also very grateful to the Crown Prosecution Service for bringing the evidence in this case before a jury.'

I want to congratulate prosecutors for bringing this case too, which is an important no-body trial. They had no evidence Graham killed Janet, except that he acted as though he knew she was never coming back.

The jury were unable to reach a verdict on the forgery charges against his girlfriend Elizabeth Todd. I find that hard to understand myself.

Rest in peace Janet.........when they find you.

Furious about this case. If Donald Graham had worked as hard at a career as he did at taking other people's money, he'd have been rich himself and Janet wouldn't be dead.

What a waste of Janet's life, and his own. Hope he is never released.

I get a sense of a bully boy when I see his photo.

Last night when I was on BBC site I found mention that his wife was terrified of him too and in fact he ''made'' her call the solicitors etc faking that she was Janet

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-tyne-27480555

''Mr Graham's wife, Denise, told Newcastle Crown Court that her husband became "nasty" towards her after starting his affair with Miss Brown.

In 2010, Mr Graham forced his wife to phone a solicitor and pretend she was Miss Brown as part of a scam to inherit her late parents' estate, the jury was told.''

So look at that little bit alone perhaps the jury decided that if one woman was going to be convicted of fraud the other one should too.

Just strange. I'm so little, I can imagine some big person threatening me into doing something wrong, alone with me at home.

Can't imagine how they'd stop me saying I was going to the store but really going straight to police the next day though.

You are right Zwiebel .... Janet Brown does indeed deserve to be laid to rest next to her parents. I live in Hexham (were Janet lived and went missing). I was up in the hills walking at the weekend. A cold and desolate place at this time of the year. She deserves be found. But how? Where does one begin? Is it possible?
