The owner of a Leeds company has urged his missing business partner to 'reach out in any way he can' after he boarded a bus to Harrogate with no phone during the early hours of Monday morning.

Jesus Moreno was last seen at 6.10am on August 1 at Leeds bus station and was said to be 'in good spirits'. But his business partner Marcos Ramirez has said there was 'no logical reason' for him to take the journey to Harrogate. No-one has seen or heard from Jesus since he boarded the bus on Monday morning.

Marcos, who co-owns Piglove Brewing Co. with Jesus, is now urging his business partner to reach out in any way possible. He told Leeds Live : "The only thing we care about is for him to come back, or to reach out if he needs any help. He lost his phone the day before so we just want him to reach out in any way he can.

"If he is OK we want him to let us know - that is the main thing. We are speculating and thinking too much. We only want to know that he's safe."

Marcos said Jesus went out on Sunday night and returned home at around 11.30pm. "He was up really early on Monday morning and a friend dropped him off (in Leeds)," he said. CCTV captured Jesus walking around Leeds at 5.17am. "He could not get into the work van and he wandered around Leeds city centre," said Marcos. "A friend saw him and said he was in good spirits. He is always in a good mood."

According to Marcos, Jesus was spotted at Leeds bus station at around 6.10am before boarding a bus to Harrogate at 6.17am. "He bought a ticket to Harrogate but we do not know where he got off (the bus)," said Marcos. "We are trying to get more information from the bus station but we have to go through the police."

Marcos described Jesus' decision to board the bus as 'extremely weird' as he had a full day planned at work which included travelling to Manchester. He said: "There is no logical reason why he would take a bus.

"We had a full day planned for the business which involved him. That's why he was up so early. It is extremely weird as he was supposed to be taking beer to Manchester and the brewery is ten minutes from the bus station."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting log 1061 of August 2 or online via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat

Now exactly a week since he was last seen. I wonder if despite those saying he was in good mood and had business meetings that day, if things perhaps weren't as they seemed. Maybe had a lot of worries, relationship failing, inwardly depressed if not showing outwardly, and things had all built up to that morning when he couldn't deal with it all...

There's an awful lot of greenery in that area he got off bus. Open fields to thickets to heavy undegrowth.

If he got off the 36 at the Swindon Lane stop - on left on second pic - there is nothing really there, except for a walker or hiker.

Thank you @MsMiniSleuth

@Whitehall 1212 I’d be interested to hear what you make of this disappearance

My first thought is despondent male, from dealing with just such SAR scenarios.

If sighting at Harewood Bridge over the River Wharfe, near Harewood Park, is the still the most recent and deemed reliable, then initial 1km search radius from place last seen (bridge?) checking footpaths and any obvious access either side up to 20m from path, bank search both sides of river 1km upstream and downstream, buildings/outhouses and accessible wooded areas areas within 1km radius. Open land can be searched by National Police Air Service (NPAS) or drone.

SAR dogs if weather conditions suitable and the area has few people around...focus on the woodland with dogs as they cover the area considerably faster.

If no trace and no further intelligence of more recent sightings then consideration to increase search radius and check hedgerows (poss hidden drainage ditches), less accessible woodland, other water features etc

Comprehensive satistical analysis has been done on lost and missing person behaviour (Bob Koester). Helps to identify how far a misper will travel on foot based on gender, age, physical impairment, intent etc. These statistics often dictate search planning.

Foul play very unlikely and no evidence of such. So possibility lying injured off main road or more likely despondent possibly with intent of self-harm.

I do hope he went off to get some space and work things through and found hope for the future.

It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem...talking really helps

Police have appealed for help finding the founder of a Leeds brewery who has been missing for a week.

Jesus Moreno, 41, owner of Piglove Brewing Co, was last seen on Monday 1 August, West Yorkshire Police said.

He was believed to have caught a Harrogate-bound service from Leeds Bus Station, according to police.

In a statement on social media, staff at Piglove Brewing Co said: "His daughter and all his family are extremely worried."

Anyone with information about where Mr Moreno may be has been asked to contact police.

Mr Moreno caught a number 36 bus from Leeds at 06:10 BST on 1 August and got off on the A61 Harrogate Road on Swindon Lane near Dunkeswick, just before 06:40 BST, police said.

He was later seen on CCTV at 08:14 BST that morning near Harewood Bridge, which is two miles from beauty spots on the River Wharfe at Netherby, where Mr Moreno had previously visited, officers said.

Mr Moreno is of Spanish origin, 5ft 7in (1.7m) tall, with long curly brown hair, a long brown beard and an orange octopus tattoo on his upper left arm, West Yorkshire Police added.

Acting Det Insp John Graham said: "It is out of character for Jesus to be missing for this amount of time and we are concerned for his welfare."

He said Mr Moreno's family was "anxious to hear any news" and asked for anyone who had seen Mr Moreno to contact police immediately.

Officers have also asked people in the area to check their home or business CCTV footage and drivers have been asked to check for any relevant dashcam footage.

I am reasonably familiar with the area and, whilst rural, it’s not as remote as it seems. There are a few businesses and farms in the area (Visible on google maps, satellite views). Even at that time in the morning, there would be a fair bit of traffic, given it’s one of the main roads linking Leeds and Harrogate.

I hope police have contacted businesses and those living near where JR was last seen, as many people would be going to work at that time and would maybe notice someone like him walking on the roadside. He might not have slept at all the night before and not be thinking straight, we just don’t know :( The longer he’s missing, the more worrying the situation. Yet, Antonino Coppola was located a couple of months after being reported missing in London after all. Very different circumstances of course, but one can only hope

The thing is that not all police forces request either Lowland or Mountain Rescue Teams to assist.

Some police forces are aware of search team capabilities and their professional approach, others are very wary of voluntary groups (even though many volunteers have police, fire, ambulance, military experience) and want to keep the matter entirely in house.

If the situation is appropriate for SAR teams to search then they have superb skills and are fully equipped.

Antonio Coppola was indeed a fabulous ending and somewhat unexpected.

The police in London were quiet about the situation. They were working hard in the background with their leads.

This does appear very different though.
