what if his sister knows more than shes letting on. what if it was an accident how libby died and the sister is covering for him for the sake of the children. Bloods thicker than water and all that .

Like what type of accident? How does someone end up dead from a ride home? I highly doubt whatever happened was an accident, jmo.

Chances are very slim imo this is not our guy.

What did he do with her body is the question, imo.

Because unlike many on here I look at the evidence and at this moment in time there is no evidence that she was ever in any car involved in this case so in fact the evidence shows she was not in the car. When I see Evidence she was in a car I will happily change my stance.
There is evidence she was in his car though? You might not consider it particularly strong, but his sister’s quote and the CCTV footage certainly count for something.

I’m not sure how you could say definitely she didn’t get in his car unless you know something else.

If somebody got her into the car with the intention of taking advantage of her vulnerable state for their own perverted ends, the local park would be the obvious place to go. They may not have intended to kill her at that stage, but ended up doing so to stop her screams or because they realised they needed to cover their tracks.

I agree with you. That’s where my thinking is at, more so with the recent charges brought to light...so is she in that park somewhere?? Or the river/pond??? Did he push/put her in and the ran away. Crazy thought but we’re those ‘screams’ actually foxes and he thought she was still alive after he’d tried to kill her and that’s why he was running?? I don’t know JMO

But the sister’s quote doesn’t say a thing about Libby! Unless I’m missing something.

She very explicitly said that Libby was in his car. She also said that Libby asked him to take her home (which almost certainly was not true as she just lived around the corner) and that Libby 'threw herself' at him in the car (which is again almost certainly not true). So at a very early stage in the investigation PR told his family that Libby was in his car but lied about the reason and what happened there. In summary, we have somebody who has been charged with grossly perverted acts admitting to his family that Libby was in his car on the night she disappeared but lying about the circumstances. And there are some folk who are still desperate to believe that he's innocent.

Where are you getting that from please?

I've not seen any report that names the crying girl or in fact any concrete evidence of PR's involvement.

I'm not saying his innocent but for me there needs to be some proof

JMO

Do you know what efforts and time it takes to thoroughly process a vehicle? Investigators painstakingly comb every square inch for hairs, fibers, etc. I’ve seen that take days sometimes just to process it, then to analyze their collections takes time as well. This stuff does not happen overnight.

I'm not sure anymore that is her in the car. Would the police not have said Libby was last seen getting into a silver car and released pictures of it? Instead of last seen on the bench? The police didn't even release any CCTV footage did they?

Hey all. Just caught up on all the threads! I’m a local and live off Chanterlands near the uni where I am also a (mature) student. Not much happening at uni today compared to last week where there were loads of police milling about. I’m going shopping soon but afterwards might take the dog for a walk down Newland and see what’s going on.

At first. I was convinced she would be found in the waterways as does happen now and again. Then the arrest happened and the cctv and now I’m not sure. I wonder why she didn’t go to the university if she was locked out of home. The library is 24 hours and she could access facebook etc to contact friends. Just one thought I had.

Thats interesting with the library being open all night? maybe when she excepted the lift that’s were she told him to take her

Imagine how embarrassing it would be if it emerged that the guy seen running from the park was just innocently going for a late night walk and ended up running out of the park simply because he's scared of foxes.
Or literally just out for a late night run?? Wasn't it said that he 'wasn't dressed for the weather'? Could just have been sports clothing / shorts etc.

The original quotes are from The Telegraph, and in the article they explicitly state she was referring to Libby. If they’d come from The Sun or DM I’d possibly be skeptical, but I don’t believe The Telegraph would be trying to mislead with quotes on such a subject

Exactly...you would expect the police to ask for the drivers and cyclist themselves

Plus if he has admitted taking her home or somewhere would the police not ask the public if they saw his car?

Yes we do. It's been all over the news what she said - whether it's true or not - we DO know what she said, at least what she said to the papers.
It’s possible they interpreted what she said inaccurately. Or made it sound more exciting to sell more newspapers.

Missing Libby Squire: Forensics remove bags of evidence as Raglan Street search continues

Police officers and forensic investigators are still searching a house in Raglan Street at the centre of the investigation into the disappearance of Libby Squire.

Detectives from Humberside Police have been seen leaving and entering the terraced house with boxes and evidence bags, with crime scene specialists also present.

The front door of the house, which is located just off Newland Avenue, was replaced with a metal sheet on Sunday, with a police guard now in place inside the house.

A reporter at the scene said officers were seen entering the property with ropes and helmets, and could be heard behind the metal door.

It is obvious to me what LE thinks in this case, which is this guy is a strong person of interest, moo. LE isn’t a bunch of dummies. They want the right guy and they want to find Libby. They are obviously strongly pursuing this guy.
