Sorry if dup noticed yesterday but it seems like they are ruling out drugs more today and moving toward nerve agent scary times if not drugs

Here was the angle at first in their 40s, were found unconscious in a suspected drugs-related incident at a house in Amesbury, Wiltshire, on Saturday.

but now:

Police said Tuesday that they initially believed the couple's collapse was drug-related, but later declared the investigation "open-minded" regarding the cause of their ailment

Both patients were being treated at Salisbury District Hospital, which remained "open as usual," police said.

CBS News partner network BBC News cited the regional fire and rescue authority as saying a total of seven vehicles arrived at the home, an apartment in Amesbury, where the couple were found, including two specialist vehicles from the neighboring county of Hampshire.

They were called to the house at about 7 p.m. on Saturday, and some of the team members entered the home wearing hazmat suits, but the officials stressed that such a response was standard procedure when dealing with a possible unknown toxin.

near the English city of Salisbury Amesbury is about eight miles from the Salisbury Russian spy poisoning site.

has raised sufficient alarm to draw in counter terrorism officers from Britain's biggest police force.

It seems however they have taken down the blocked off areas but confusing on that part of the story

too early to tell whether the substance was related to illegal drugs or “something more sinister”.

The duo are understood to be British citizens unlikely to have been the victims of a targeted attack.

They were "out" (maybe partying )

One article stated they were treated for opioid overdose. That doesn't fit with dilated pupils as opioids constrict pupils.

They may have had dilated pupils because they were found dead.

A "random" poisoning to divert attention from the Sergei and Yulia Skripal incident?

Likely a Russian operation, like the other, one hand washing the other clean?

U.K. anti-terrorism police investigate after 'unknown substance' leaves 2 critically ill | CBC News
"Both victims are British nationals, said Wiltshire Police deputy chief Constable Paul Mills. He did not release their names, but friends named the couple as Dawn Sturgess, 44, and Charlie Rowley, 45"

"A major incident is a designation allowing British authorities to mobilize more than one emergency agency.
The incident is being treated with the "utmost seriousness," a spokesperson for Prime Minister Theresa May said.

The British government's emergency response committee had met over the incident in Wiltshire, southwest England, and ministers were being regularly updated"

It's odd that a legal pharmacy was temporarily closed for this investigation.
Do you remember The Tylenol Murders? Chicago Tylenol murders - Wikipedia

They seem to be closing down everywhere that the couple have visited just before they were taken ill. So I guess they may have gone to Boots, but that might not be to pick up a prescription.

Dribbling, hallucinating, and dilated pupils could mean they consumed bath salts. (Is this garbage legal in the UK?)

Do people in this area forage for wild mushrooms and plants?

I'm pretty sure nothing like that is legal, but I don't understand why the friend quoted in the msm article linked above was so sure they were sober? Because those symptoms do sound similar to someone taking illegal drugs.

I know people who forage for mushrooms (not in that county but I don't see why magic mushrooms wouldn't grow there?) and they have to be careful which ones they pick.

It's novichok. How bizarre.

Wow! I looked for a link and the local radio station, SpireFM, has an article saying that

Novichok confirmed in Amesbury incident

In a statement this evening (4th July) Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, from the Metropolitan Police, said;

“This evening we have received test results from Porton Down that show the two people have been exposed to the nerve agent Novichok."

"Following the detailed analysis of these samples, we can confirm that the man and woman have been exposed to the nerve agent Novichok, which has been identified as the same nerve agent that contaminated both Yulia and Sergei Skripal.

"The latest update we have from the hospital is that both patients remain in a critical condition. Both are British nationals and are local to the area. Officers are still working to identify their next of kin.

"At this stage, no-one else has presented with the same symptoms linked to this incident."

Nine locations in Salisbury which are to be decontaminated following the poisoning of an ex-spy and his daughter have been surrounded by new barriers. The Mill pub and Zizzi restaurant are among the places deemed to be still at risk by government scientists.

But officials say the city remains "safe for residents and visitors" and extra precautions need not be taken.
