#MISSING | Have you seen Nicola Bulley, who has gone missing from home in Inskip?

Nicola, 45, was last seen at around 9.15am today (Friday, January 27th) on the footpath by the river off Garstang Road in St Michael’s on Wyre.

She is described as white, 5ft 3ins tall, with light brown shoulder-length hair. She speaks with an Essex accent.

She was last seen wearing a long black gilet jacket with a hood, black jeans and olive green ankle wellies. Her hair was tied into a ponytail.

Immediately prior to going missing she was walking her dog, described as a brown-coloured Spaniel. Although the dog has since been found close to where we believe Nicola was last seen, we hope this might help jog the memory of anybody who saw her at around the same time and who may have information about where she was going.

We aren't going to reinvent the wheel by repeat posting of all the rules, reminders, the Dos and Don'ts.

Additionally, links to and discussion of fundraising is not allowed unless it is a fundraiser run by close friends or family AND even then, the only thing allowed is a possible snippet of a previously unknown fact regarding the specifics of the case itself (i.e. wearing black sneakers, or ??). The actual $ figures and how it is progressing or not are off limits.

LE has now indicated that NB was deemed high risk "following the information that was provided to the police by her partner Paul and based on a number of specific vulnerabilities that we were made aware of" LE themselves have opened up speculation in regard to personal reasons NB may have disappeared.

Additionally, a reporter has indicated they are aware of what those vulnerabilities are, so we do now know they exist. The fact that LE has specified they exist but is not addressing them further is certainly not going to discourage speculation as to what may have happened. Had they said nothing in that regard, it would be status quo here at WS, but based on their comments, we are opening up discussion of the possibility that NB may have disappeared voluntarily or possibly committed suicide.

Discussion and speculation of what those vulnerabilities may consist of or what they may have resulted in (i.e. voluntarily missing or suicide) is allowed but at all times members must remain respectful and refrain from unnecessary graphic details of what you think may have happened.

Just adding after the fact that LE has obviously now released that those vulnerabilities are related specifically to alcohol and menopause.

But you folks already know that.

He was hesitant. Possibly just being in front of camera. My immediate thought was perhaps he heard something in the bushes and systemised it in his head as someone going to the loo.

IMO this could happen then when you find out missing person your brain changes the story but you still have the original story in your head.

Honestly Ron just seems like an average 70 year old guy who didn't really want to be interviewed and just wanted to walk his dog. He's probably also worried about messing his words up, being on camera and/or coming across guilty, same as Paul. It's also possible he doesn't really remember details specifically and he's slightly estimating it. Since there aren't really many potential known options to become suspects here, they're all in the front seat and god I'm just glad I'm not one of them...

Agree. Imagine realising you're talking to TV news reporters about someone going to the toilet in some bushes! I'd be embarrassed and quickly change the subject.

I doubt there's a stock answer, temperature of the water would be a factor imo.

I hope it's ok to post this. Specialist Search Dogs state they were called out on the 12th and 15th by Lancashire Police to assist a 'high profile search for a missing person'. 'Our thoughts are with family and the local community'.
2 teams on the 15th and 4 on the 12th (which also involved the local coastguard). Specialist Search Dogs.
Still waiting for update on the 15th Feb callout.
Presumably re NB. At least it shows there is still activity behind the scenes.

Nicola Bulley's dad says the family are waiting for a "breakthrough" as today marks three weeks since she went missing.

It comes one day after, Nicola's family released a heartbreaking directly appealed to the mum, saying to "not be scared" as her girls "want a cuddle".

It comes after Nicola's sister shared a sunny snap of herself with Nicola and their mum D, 72 on her Facebook wall today.

She wrote: "Three weeks today without you home. We all miss you so much, time to come home now."

Yes, it was in one of the police statements. I'm sure you will find it on their website.

The thing is I've seen NO-ONE anywhere judging her. Not once. All I've seen is support for her.

It's like in one fail swoop you've just made up a whole new narrative that's not been mentioned anywhere. All of her friends who have spoken out have had nothing but kind things to say, so really not sure what you're basing all this on.

Yes everyone on here seems to be kind and supportive but this is a victim friendly group. The family themselves said in their last statement that people were about to sell stories about Nicola so that suggests that there had been plenty of gossip and nastiness elsewhere. There has been vile comments on other social media .MOO

The film crew had obviously briefed him as when the reporter began asking him questions he told him something like “so when you found the phone there what did you think?” The man clearly knew they were going to interview him.

However, he did come across extremely sincere and truthful IMO.

I think the police are happy with whatever happened by the bench after 9.33 but it would be good for someone to share it.

Nevertheless, the conflicting initial reports regarding whether the phone was found on the bench vs. found on the floor - and by which of the witnesses - is very concerning, to me at least, IMO. Surely it's time for this point to be cleared up definitively? On the floor and on the bench are two very different scenarios. The devil is in the details. It matters. JMO.

I'm intrigued why you say wearing civvies makes you look in charge? (Genuine question).

To me, she looked casual (and therefore less in charge) than the uniformed ACC to her right, or indeed the uniformed Riley from earlier pressers.

I actually said detective in charge . The ACC was clearly a higher rank, but probably knew less about the investigation.

Do you find anything strange about the way that the people who found an unattended dog and a mobile phone next to a river, handled the situation? I seem to be in a minority as most people seem to just skim over it and say that you can’t call out these witnesses on anything. I’m not accusing them of anything, but the delay has given either A: Nicolas body more time to disappear down the river or B: Nicola to get further away from the scene whether by choice or by force.

3 or possibly 4 adults (who I’m assuming have a reasonable level of intelligence between them) were all involved in the finding of Willow/phone next to a river of all places, and it took over an hour for anybody outside of themselves to be alerted. All this ringing about between themselves, and it took over an hour to actually call somebody outside of their circle to have the matter at hand dealt with. It’s bizarre to me.

I’m not exactly sure how many people were involved but from what I can gather, a man and woman found Willow/phone, woman rang man’s wife to tell her, wife tried to ring man to tell him but he was already at the scene. Then someone’s daughter in law was phoned about it?? Am I right? It’s hard trying to make sense of the initial sequence of events after willow was found and I’m basing my thoughts on what I’ve read happened.

I certainly find it strange. To me the obvious question to all of them is "when you came across the dog and phone with no obvious person near a sign indicating danger deep water, did any of you think to look in the river". Nobody has told us whether or not they did, if they did then it seems more likely she wasn't in there at that time.

Rather than this case being some sort of operation to force things on the general public by authorities (I don't even want to say the name these conspiracy nutters call it because it is stupid), I actually hope it does bring about renewed calls for tighter restrictions on reporting by the tabloid press. I hope it brings about discussions regarding some sort of definite repercussions for social media people with their own channels and members of the public etc who purposely plant 'evidence', or harass witnesses. Even discussions on people receiving money for going to the media with their 'story', although obviously sometimes this would be genuine and needed.
