IMO I’d like to say something about Fitbits, I have been wearing them for many years, updating the watches themselves over time. You can access all the data directly from an app on your phone. If they have NB’s phone, the app doesn’t require a password so they must have her Fitbit data, you don’t need to contact Fitbit for it, it should all be right there on her phone? Unless they haven’t been able to get into her phone, I’m a bit puzzled by this as they would know if she was alive or not simply by the heartbeat data. MOO
The fitbit hadn‘t synched since the Tuesday before she went missing.

Surely this site will have been searched by now. I am really not clear on what they have searched so far. As you say, searching there makes a lot of sense

This has been my theory from when NB went missing.

I don't have a problem with him trying to help and his equipment is clearly able to aid this investigation in some way.

Giving a running commentary seemingly ever hour of the search is a bit distasteful though compared to how the police would conduct events.

Dosen't he have a book coming out soon?

I grew up in the area. Shard Bridge and the river in that area are really wide. In St Michaels and for quite a few miles downstream of that (and the area searched today) the river is much narrower, winds and twists around a lot, and not so much tidal effect.

"We can say with confidence that by reviewing CCTV, Nicola has not left the field during the key times via Rowanwater, either through the site itself or via the piece of land at the side."

"Also, we can say that she did not return from the fields along Allotment Lane or via the path at the rear of the Grapes pub onto Garstang Road."

I feel dreadful putting a like to this post, however this confirms how I have felt all along, tragic as it is.

Same. I can't understand why he's given 3 (?) statements/interviews today when he's essentially a contractor acting in a voluntary capacity. Unless the police have asked him to do this so they can focus, take the heat off them (not that it has...) etc MOO

It is 13 miles out to sea. You’ll find that on Google. It’s also a tidal river and the tide starts in the area where it happened.

I’m useless at maths, but the I believe the tide flows at about 13ft a minute. Or thereabouts. So someone far brighter than me could work out how long it would take to reach the sea.
Easy enough to work that out but it keeps crossing my mind - and it may already have been said - but remember the tide flows back in twice a day as well. It is not a flow towards the sea all day. I haven't seen any flow rates for the incoming tide but that would surely have a bearing how long NB would remain in the river if she is there...wouldn't it?

I wholeheartedly agree with this and it is not his place to comment. If NB was my family member, I would be all over the place emotionally containing my own thoughts vs this guy flip flopping with theories publicly. It must be torture.

What exits does that not cover though? I don’t think it covers every way out, does it?

88 hours. A poster further up thread worked it out.

Just an observation but I cannot remember ever seeing the head of a search team doing multiple interviews with all manner of different news outlets during a search? Public comms is typically managed by the local Police constabulary and/or SIO leading the investigation. Seems strange that he's still giving little snippets of his own theory to the likes of JK on Talk TV as posted earlier.

To note, I'm not suggesting this is wrong or pointing the finger at any of the investigative efforts here, I just can't ever recall a case playing out like this before. April Jones disappearance had similar, if not more resources put into the search efforts and was widely televised but the search experts never publicly came on camera and discussed anything other than the official lines given by LE.

Sign of the times or just the nature of the case and public interest?

Just came back on to see if there'd been any further developments and see that it says

'A spokesperson for Lancashire Police told The Sun: "The search of the sand and surrounding area near to Shard Bridge by Lancashire Police and the Coastguard proved negative."

So msm reporters must've contacted LancsPolice to enquire about the police presence filmed.

Anyway, just shows again that LE & other emergency services are working non-stop, all through the night on this as the Super said in her last LancsPolice statement this evening
