Mr Myers said: “Who were making these comments?”

The doctor said: “Other junior doctors, some consultant colleagues. But again not in a way that would make you think anything untoward in the way of harm being done was going on.”
I wonder if Dr choc had heard these rumours.
If he'd have heard whispers and yet was spending one to one time with LL that must have been weird, trying to reassure her.
It sounds like the concerns around LL are soon to become more 'out there'
I wonder how long he continued to pacify her.

Consultant Dr John Gibbs is first in the witness box. He is recalling the events immediately after Child O's (Child P's brother) death on June 23 2016

Dr Gibbs tells the court that when he saw Child O, in the moments before his death, he remembered 'feeling uncomfortable and thought oh no, not another one

He said he had become 'increasingly concerned at the accumulating number of unusual, unexpected and inexplicable collapses that had been happening on the neonatal unit and that staff nurse Letby had been involved in all of them'

Dr Gibbs tells the court that after Child O's death, his brother Child P was started on antibiotics and sent for an abdominal X-ray as a precaution

The Chester live reporting didn't say it was LL who said this. Just 'a nurse'. I think it's likely to be more accurate than DM.

Putting the previous incident aside... the evidence from the female doctor yesterday was definitely about LL. What are your thoughts on LL saying "He's not leaving here alive is he" and then apparently being "excited" and "animated" when asking the parents if they'd like her to make up a memory box?

"Mr Myers repeatedly put it to Dr Gibbs that if he had concerns he would have taken action. Dr Gibbs repeated that he knew it had been raised by colleagues with management. He said the senior consultants had openly discussed 'the one common factor' in the baby deaths"

Yes... Note that... All of them! So quite possibly the other babies that were not a part of this trial.

IMO a bit of a ridiculous line of questioning with it being known that they couldn't get senior management to take their concerns seriously but when they did LL was removed faster than you can say Jack Robinson.

why does that make you think there were other babies?

We know it was more than babies O and P by that date

That if correct Letby is an utter psychopath.

This is why I said possibly.
Possibly he was referring to all the babies included in this trial.
Possibly he is referring to all the deaths that occured at CoC 2015-2016.

So is it fair to say the grievance referred to in the note is likely to be in relation to "trying" to get back onto the unit? It would make sense imo

Also, Myers irritates me in that just because someone didn't call the police doesn't mean a crime wasn't committed. They aren't exclusive, it doesn't strengthen his "all eyes on lucy" approach or anything - just makes his argument weak imo

Sounds like she was desperately trying to get back in. I'm guessing as the months went by and the death toll decreased, that possibility was looking less and less likely.
That is frightening, if she is guilty.

To me it makes a mockery of the “ confirmation bias “
They ( management ) were actively trying to keep her there.

I do feel there is somewhat of a boldness and a cheek to the situation IF guilty. Like she didn't just slip away to another hospital, she fought her corner for a long while. Is that delusion or ego i wonder? Strange case really imo.

The leaving here alive thing I don't really think anything of. LL interpreted him as sicker than the doctor did.

I think if LL did say the rest of it in that excited tone then it is very very weird. JMO
