UK - Prince Andrew accused of underage sexual relationship, 1999-2002 *settled* #2

"How Prince William wishes Andrew would just 'vanish' from a slimmed down monarchy with his vision for future of Royal Family having no role for rogue uncle after Virginia Roberts scandal"

Oh dear, good luck with that! Constitutional Monarchy or a President? Both are very bothersome in their own special way.

There is currently no mechanism for such a title to be removed, but Rachael Maskell, Labour MP for York Central, is seeking to address the gap in the law via her Removal of Titles Bill.

It aims to give the monarch new powers to remove titles or a committee of Parliament to determine that a title should be taken away.

Ms Maskell said her constituents made it clear to her that they wanted the Duke of York's title to be removed, particularly given York's recognition as a Human Rights City.

Well, why to watch the copy when the original cannot be surpassed? :p
Sounds like alot of things that happened before the interview that we do not know about.

The story is “about how the BBC’s Newsnight team got the scoop, then the actual filming of it,” Moffat tells Deadline.

“The other thing is, ‘Why did he agree to do it?’ …How was it that he decided it was a good idea to do a great big long interview with Emily Maitlis on the BBC?” Moffat adds.

The screenwriter is focused on how the reporters pulled together the interview under pressure and amidst extreme secrecy, citing the “thrilling drama” of interactions between the BBC team and members of the Duke’s household, his private secretary Amanda Thirskm, and his daughter Princess Beatrice.

Well, I posted a link above explaining all this.
"Milking' this disgusting case is abhorrent to me.

So, no, thank you very much.
I will skip this particular premiere.

"BBC fury' as ex-Newsnight producer Sam McAlister is accused of 'stealing glory' for Emily Maitlis' Prince Andrew car-crash interview by 'cashing in' on scoop with book and movie."

"For Prince Andrew, his life as a working royal is over':

Royal expert says King Charles has no plans for his brother in the new 'slimmed down' monarchy and is focusing on his heirs instead."

Andrews life as a working Royal has been over for some time.

He spent part of this summer lobbying his Mother for some sort of position and return to ‘active duty’ within the family. No success.

Its been widely reported that there is no love lost between Andrew and Charles, he is not a direct heir, what did he really expect?

As a person, he will basically be retired but his expenses will be covered and he will still live life of luxury.

Walking the dogs will be good for him.

Can we put him on an austerity budget at least?

He is paying for his security though still

Which ‘he’? Which ‘his’?

Andrew is no longer getting taxpayer funded Royal Protection officers, is how I read it.

Andrew will have private, unarmed security unless he wishes to pay for it himself……is my understanding of the situation.

My bet is that Andrew will hire his own armed protection; his Mom left him enough to have a comfy life.

Charles has made it clear to Andrew that he is now a private citizen, member of the family. As are many others in the clan.

ETA: Hope the whole Royal family, not just working members, will be walking to the church. The Californian members are staying stateside for now.
