The worried partner of a dad from Fife who mysteriously disappeared during a camping trip is calling for volunteers to help bring him home to his children.

28-year-old Reece Rodger was camping with friends on the north shore of Loch Rannoch, near Killichonan when he left the group to go to bed on Saturday March 18. But he hasn't been seen since.

The following morning his friends raised the alarm when they could not find him, sparking a major missing person search. Now, two weeks later, his partner Paula Airzee has issued a heartfelt plea for members of the public to help them search the area.

The 28-year-old’s concerned pals raised the alarm the following morning when they could find no trace of him - sparking a major missing person search. Partner Paula Airzee has now issued a heartfelt plea for members of the public to help them search the area on the 2nd week anniversary of Reece going missing this weekend.

As the Daily Record reports, Paula posted on social media: “Can we be out in force on Saturday and Sunday, please? Let’s mark the second week of Reece’s disappearance with as many people as possible. I need Reece home now. He’s missed more than ever.

“My boys need their daddy… and I need my best pal.” She added: “I can’t thank you all enough for everything you’ve done and are doing for us as a family.”

I am a bit mystified about the sighting that night which is hard to explain. If it was him then maybe he thought he would pop back to a petrol station he thought he'd seen to get some cigarettes or a drink but that seems really unlikely. Similarly in the morning he might have been popping out to get some coffee or food for his camp mates but again that seems unlikely to go on foot in such an area.

My only other thoughts are maybe he was drunk or doing some drugs or had a psychotic episode and went off in delirium. Any of these scenarios would seem to lead to an accidental fall or drowning in the loch.

The other least likely scenario is that someone did harm to him but that seems very unlikely.

The searcher said: "There was four teams, alpha to delta, of about 15 people who walked in linear lines searching in rather difficult terrain - lots of march and bracken.

"Everyone had high hopes and tried to keep the moral despite being missing for two weeks.

Writing on the Please Help to Find Reece Facebook group, she said: “The response to the weekend search for Reece was nothing other than heartwarming.

“It makes me realise even more how much Reece is loved.

“Since Reece disappeared we have had over a thousand people come search for him and we still don’t have one clue where he is. Nothing…. Reece could never have covered on foot what we have. Where can he be….. I’m begging for the public to help.

“Another search of the water is taking place over the next few days by the police – Reece doesn’t like water but I’m grateful for anything at this stage.”

The devastated partner of missing Reece Rodger has told of the last conversation she had with him, as she revealed fresh details about his disappearance. Dad-of-two Reece, 28, was last seen by pals during a fishing trip at Loch Rannoch, Perthshire, at 11.30pm on March 18.

His partner, Paula Airzee, has said that Reece spent most of the day fishing on the north shore of the loch. He phoned his partner intermittently throughout the day, saying he was having a great time but complaining about the weather.

In a phone call made at about 4pm, he told Paula that he wanted to come home before changing his mind and saying: “I’ll be okay”. He continued to keep in touch, with the final call coming at 11.18pm and lasting just over a minute.

Another search for Reece taking place on Sunday, this weekend marks 4 weeks since Reece went missing :( His partner Paula thinks he may have tried to make his way home, but it would have been pitch black at 11.30pm in the countryside & around a 24 hour walk back to fife a distance of between 70-80 miles, unless he tried to hitch a lift?

His partner Paula Airzee told BBC Scotland she has found herself wondering if there might be some third party involvement in his disappearance.
Police said they had an open mind but it remained a missing person inquiry.
Paula believes he may have tried to return home that night but has come to harm.
"If he had suffered an accident, like fell and hurt himself he would have been found by now," she said.
"The only other thing I can think of is third party involvement - someone has done something to him."
