9/2/20 Update: Third District Judge Vernice Trease on Wednesday granted Ajayi’s request for an interpreter in “substantive” court proceedings like an upcoming preliminary hearing to determine whether prosecutors have enough evidence for a trial. Defense attorney Neal Hamilton argued Ajayi needs translation into his native language, Yoruban, so he can confer with his attorneys on the spot & suggest questions for them to ask in court. Most hearings in Utah are being held remotely amid the pandemic, but Hamilton said he would like Ajayi, the interpreter & defense attorneys to be allowed to appear together in court at the October 28th preliminary hearing. The parties are expected to hash out the details when Ajayi returns to court Sept. 16.

The fact that he didn't say, or even imply, that he sexually assaulted her in any way, coupled with the previous stories of him trying to find someone to build a torture-type chamber in his basement, makes me think he is into actual torturing, killing, and desecration, and not so much the sexual aspect.
