Police offer $5,000 reward for information about the killing of SLC woman in 2018
Salt Lake City police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information about the 2018 murder of Wanyun Judd.
The 47-year-old woman was asleep in her home at 54 E. Harrison Ave. at 6:24 a.m. on Sept. 28, 2018, when she was struck and killed by an “errant” bullet fired in a drive-by shooting. At the time, police said they believe Wanyun was “incorrectly targeted,” and the shooter has never been found.

It was still unknown Tuesday whether the gunman fired from a car or got out and fired into Judd’s home. But detectives still believe she was an “innocent victim” and that she may have been shot in a case of mistaken identity or the gunman got the wrong house.
“We don’t believe she was the target of anything,” Ruff said.
Her husband was home at the time of the shooting but was not injured, he said.
Ruff said it has been a long time since the department has offered a reward on a homicide case. But in this case, “we just feel like we don’t want to give up,” he said.
In addition to the reward, police have purchased billboards to display Judd’s case around the county to raise public awareness about the ongoing investigation.
