VA - Couple & two teens found murdered, Farmville, 15 Sept 2009 #4

Just another thought on this song in particular. Does it have relevance to an insanity defense? I'm going to say yes, and I think the defense is going to introduce it as evidence of his mental illness.

...yeah, voices in his head. Puts the Psych in Syko.

I don't know what's worse, having to listen to the music or read the words. Bless his heart, he sucks.

Anyone notice that a few Razakel songs lift the production from popular songs? I know in Hip Hop that's standard for mixtapes, but I'm curious as to how much Sicktannick lifts his beats from elsewhere on the "pressed records" and if he credits them.

Specifically, I'm talking about "Pornographic Blasphemy" ft. Sicktanick which steals the melody from Justin Timberlake's "My Love" and "OH (UGLYCROSSEYEDGREENFAKEHAIREDHOEZ)" Which lifts the beat and melody from Ciara's "Oh".

Since the Genre is so small, they may be infringing on copy written songs and the artists have NO earthly idea. Interesting in the least...I produce hip-hop so i'd have to hear the songs to know if they were long enough to need any kind of paperwork on.

If you study hip hop music, you'll find that a lot of it includes unlicensed samples. Also underground house and electronic music. This is a common practice.

Hip Hop USED to contain a lot of unlicensed samples. And lots. It's a reason early entertainers didn't have a lot of money. Law suits over and over once the genre got large enough to attract the attention of the originating artist. Early producers didn't get the cash until after the newer artists were fined. So in the end, hip hop was rough to make cash end early era.

Meh. This practice is employed by some of the top names in the music business, it is not going to get any attention here.

Also, don't confuse "writing credits" with sampling...not the same thing.

You can write a song and still own the written lyrics and score, but then RECORD it using illegally used unlicensed samples. The rights to the recorded work are not equivalent to the rights associated with the score and lyrics.

See my friend Benedict's website for more on historical sampling: http://www.benedict.com/Audio/Audio.aspx

Almost every commercial hip hop track includes at least an unlicensed sample or two. It might just be a high hat ripped from the Rolling Stones live album or even a single guitar note. People don't even remember where some of these come from any more.

You also are limited to the amount of the song you can sample Unlicensed or free. There is a little give and take there. You can grab certain number of bars. But you can't do what it sounds as if these guys are doing. Law suits (if they had money) waiting to happen.

True, but you're thinking about commercial radio hip hop. There is a whole underground economy and has been for decades. This exists in both hip hop and electronic music. There are lots and lots of white label remixes out there. I own a few of these....

No one is getting paid and in most cases no one cares because it is promoting the music. If some one does get a big record then it isn't uncommon for various people to line up to get paid after the fact.

Anyway that's my experience, I guess YMMV.

True, but in the underground world, your poor and suing for money that the other party doesn't have. lol. Guess that just makes it pointless, huh?

Suing people that don't have very much money is sort of a pointless activity, but hey it's the RIAA and they like suing people just to ruin their lives despite there being little chance of ever collecting so maybe they'd be up for it.

See how it works?

Car accidents are interesting. I was in a pretty serious accident in 1991.

For some reason over ten years later it occurred to me that had I not been precisely where I was, at precisely that moment, the guy who lost control of his van and hit my car would have gone right over the side and almost certainly would have died. It was a long way down and there is no guard rail on the turn. Being a mathematician, I just had to estimate how precisely timed this event had to be in order for me to save this guy's life. Turns out to be a fairly small fraction of a second. And there were only our two cars on the road for a couple of miles in either direction.

Coincidence? Maybe or maybe not.

I have studied conspiracy theories for years now, sort of a hobby and of course people in to that are always blaming FREEMASONS for everything, so after I started researching such things I would see the number 33 everywhere, which of course is a big part of the whole freemason conspiracy theory agenda because it is the degree where freemasons allegedly learn that lucifer is their god. lol

But yea I see 33s everywhere now, unreal.

Seriously though, I wonder if they took a corpse dog to his back yard? Because I think maybe they might want to check that out...

Its interesting to think about whether Sam has killed before. I really think he does hear those voices in his head and that could really lend support to an insanity plea also.

The thing is you cannot use an AXIS 2 mental disorder for an insanity plea. Axis 2 includes all PERSONALITY DISORDERS, these are people who are sociopathtic, manipulative etc, most serial killers are Axis 2 diagnosed, but you CAN use an Axis 1 diagnoses and those are are mental illnesses that result from chemical imbalance and can be helped with medication like PSYCHOSIS, schizophrenia, etc and HEARING VOICES certainly falls in to Axis 1. There is no medication for personality disorders. I dont think Sam is personality disordered, I just dont see that in him but he may very well be an Axis 1 case if he is hearing voices and in my experience as a writer, when I write poetry or song lyrics I tend to write from a personal experince perspective, its hard for me to imagine Sam made up all those lyrics out of the blue.

Maybe those voices are the sounds he heard in the basement.

I've been saying all along, insanity defense is the way to go. If Sam hasn't been hearing voices, he'd better start listening real hard.

j/k. I know it's very hard to pull off fake crazy. But he did have a few days to research it online. :innocent:

His lawyer said that Sam didnt understand the SEVERITY OF IT ALL, his exact words, thats the same as saying SAM didnt know what he did was wrong. I am really starting to think they may play the insanity card on this.

I mean seriously you either KNOW smashing 4 skulls with a maul is a SEVERE crime or you do not, there is no gray area there. If Sam seriously doesnt understand the severity of mass murdering 4 people, well that is interesting to say the least.

He may not have understood it at the time he committed the acts, but afterwards he tried to leave town and lied to several people about his actions. If he didn't know it was wrong, why did he try to flee and why did he lie?

The defense is going to have a tough sell here I think. Ironic IMO that the music might be his best defense.

Damn you Pax, you knew I would have to do this. I'll get you back. ;)

Chorus:
The evil voices they're inside my head
They want to see me kill
They want to see me dead

The evil voices they're inside my head
They want to see me kill
They want to see me dead

They're always in my head
Tell me it never stop
They don't care about my life
They hope I ??? God
They want me to murder continuously
They want to take lives on mass murder spree

I love the smell of a body that's rotten and decayed
That's what I think about when I'm stalking my prey

I've got this deadly urge and I just don't know why
But I've the heard the voices and they say you've got to die

Knocked you out, dragged you back to my truck
Stained my clothes I'm bloody as ****
Don't beg for me to let you go
I'm going to torture and kill you slow

Knocked you out, dragged you back to my truck
Stained my clothes I'm bloody as ****
Don't beg for me to let you go
I'm going to torture and kill you slow

Chorus

Its not that easy doing what I do
Its ok the voices they'll help me through
I love to hear you scream I love to hear you cry
As I gag your mouth and blindfold your eyes
Rape torture kill, you're in for a big surprise.
Now it's your sure time for you to die.
I'm going to bury you in my backyard under the ground.
Six feet under, you'll never be found.

Chorus

I'm really hope I don't ever get caught
And still Dad say (???) I'm never going to stop
I never question the voices, they're always right
And I love the victims that put up a fight
The voices make me seek the prey that is animal
Like Hannibal the Cannibal
I'm definitely not Hannibal (???)
It's not my fault for these bad thoughts and choices
Don't blame me, blame all the voices

Knocked you out, dragged you back to my truck
Stained my clothes I'm bloody as ****
Don't beg for me to let you go
I'm going to torture and kill you slow

Knocked you out, dragged you back to my truck
Stained my clothes I'm bloody as ****
Don't beg for me to let you go
I'm going to torture and kill you slow

Chorus x3

Edited to add: this could use another set of ears and review. I don't think it is exactly right. Especially not sure about the "Dad" reference.

....now if the "dad" reference is correct that could put an interesting twist on things....what if dad didn't want him to go to va cos he knew what sam was going to do? I've been trying so hard to find stuff about sam's dad,I'd especially like to listen to his band, but I can't find anything ....what if the apple didn't fall far from the tree....and the voices are actually dad's voice and the whole killing obsession is something sam witnessed as a kid....very far fetched ...i know,i need to stop,I think pax decided on non-fiction on that book after all....but nothing's impossible,i guess...

Listen to that part yourself, I was really having a hard time with it and this was my best guess. But I didn't trust my ears on this part.

There are a few other errors I know about too.

Edited to add: I also thought maybe instead of "dad" it says "they" referencing the voices, but idk didn't sound like they when I listened to it repeatedly.

SCOTT: It is hard for a lot of people to accept. I've talked to a lot of people on the streets in New York. And said, "What would you say to this man?" It's amazing to me, but honestly two-thirds of them said they would forgive you. Yeah. People are very compassionate, but there are other people that would still hold that against you, for those heinous crimes.

Son of Sam. There's been a lot of confusion about the name. Who was the Son of Sam? Who was Sam and the Son of Sam?

DAVID: Well Scott, it's a long story, and it would take hours to go into everything and unravel the case. But I at one time had gotten into Satan worship. And this entity, this demon, that was his name. It was just the stupidest thing I had ever done in my life. I just let the devil take control of me. And back in 1975, '76, even before the crimes started, I made a pact with the devil.

SCOTT: Did you hear voices in your mind? Is that how it came to you?

DAVID: After some rituals, initiations, and things I went through, I began to experience ... now that I look back, they were like hallucinations. And Satan had come upon me with his power. They were like audio-visual things that came, and so forth.
