Has anyone tried posting on this site about him, or contacted the site managers about him? I wonder if they would put a little box on the main page or something to help with the search? It's the "official" page for Dead Heads.

i know there has been some contact with some dead forums, not sure about this specific site... i did some searching and didn't find any reference to Jason but did see that there is a page for Jason's specific show with a few hundred people who went to the show.

there's a forum about the show that someone could post in (my work IT security won't let me do so) asking for general info. not sure if it would be intrusive to send PMs to all the attendees with quick message about who jason was and a link to his NAMUS page? if you all think it would be ok, i would be happy to take a chunk of the list.

comment from that link (http://www.dead.net/show/june-24-1995?page=1):

" I remember the police in RIOT gear after the show let out and the crowd afterwards wasn't rowdy to warrant that type of thing- full plexi shields, being pushed through cattle lines to the parking lot, very out of hand."

interesting in that police herding people out could have contributed to our doe being unable to rendezvous with his group.

Interesting point. There's more stuff in that particular post, too. It mentions sitting next to a kid who was seeing his first show, and that they made a video there. Wonder how old that "kid" was, and if they still have the video?

That post is from the show on the 24th. There is a post on the page for the show on the 25th looking for the Carolines. I don't know that there has been much focus on the 24th, but that might be a better idea because he would have come with someone, right? It's likely he parted ways with them at some point during/between/after those shows. But...if he was there for both shows (which it seems he was, with 2 tickets) he probably hung out with some other people who were there on the 24th.

exactly. we've always assumed if he got separated it was during the second show but maybe it wasn't. maybe his group was from the day before. worth thinking outside the box considering it's been 18 years and no luck.

I don't know if this is helpful, but at this point it can't hurt to try, right? I've never posted here or tried anything like this before but after reading so much about him for two days I had to try something.

A few pages back I saw some trace-overs of the faint tattoo, but I saw hardly any other mention of it and didn't see anyone darken it (the only Grateful Doe threads I haven't read are #1 and a handful of the ruled out ones).

I found this article in the Free Lance-Star Jan. 1, 1996.

Does anyone has a membership or has anyone looked at this site? The Whole Earth 'Lectronic Link, normally shortened to The WELL, is one of the oldest virtual communities in continuous operation. There are "conferences" that discuss the Grateful Dead and linking members for rides, etc. on it.

Not sure, but I think he's been ruled out. Seems like I came across him awhile back and someone posted he's been ruled out.

Probably on one of these threads, but I haven't found it yet. Are Grateful Doe's remains in ME office? Buried? Cremated? Any DNA? DNA put into 23andme.com? Thanks.

You know; being that he took a ride going to South Carolina; we should really look in GA AL FL area as well as TX. He was on his way to south carolina and I think that is really important. IOW if he was from CA he wouldn't go that way; if he was from up North he wouldn't have gone that way and He must have lived South.

As some of you know; the GD FB page owner Alyssa is locked out of her FB profile. The way the FB staff decides what is a priority to fix; they look at how many votes an error topic has. The more votes; the faster they will fix it. Please go to the links below to click on GOOD QUESTION it will upvote the post. Give your friends the link & ask them to upvote too please.

Make sure you do not hit good question twice because it removes your vote.

Thank you!

I recall reading that his body was cremated in 2001. I believe the ME's office obtained more DNA before final disposition.

Hi-I am new to this forum. I found out about Jason about 6 weeks ago because I had several friends in the 1990's who followed the Dead around the eastern U.S. I saw mention on this site that Jason may have been Amish. There is an Amish area of Sarasota Florida (Pinecraft) that is heavily Amish and Mennonite. If Jason was in rumspringa and from an Amish community in the northern U.S., he may have been travelling to Pinecraft. Does anyone have contacts in the Sarasota area where a reporter might be willing to do a story? If Jason was under the bann (tattoos are not really Amish) his family will not claim him, but someone might remember their rumspringa cousin who never came back. Nothing works faster than the Amish grapevine.
