The families of 2 women, missing since this past July, met in Charlottesville Saturday to search for clues to their disappearance.
They scoured the Rivanna trail, starting from Riverview Park in the city with the help of the organization Missing in America. But family members say this is about more than just Bonnie Santiago and Janet Renee Field.
With the holidays around the corner Help Save the Next Girl is spreading the message about the many women who aren't home with their families to celebrate...
The families of Alexis Murphy and Janet Rene Field marched in the Nelson County Christmas parade on Sunday afternoon.
Families passed out fliers of the women still missing in the area with hopes that people would show their support for their families as they work tirelessly to bring them home.
Three new articles in recognition of the 1-year anniversary of her disappearance:

There is new info, and unfortunately it's not good. Investigators think she's likely dead, the victim of foul play. The stories also have some photos I haven't seen before.
The comments from her family before (like the ones in this article: http://www.fluvannareview.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5882:missing&catid=81) had really led me to believe she had likely left voluntarily. I still wonder if the problem isn't more lack of publicity. She could be alive somewhere, and nobody she's interacted with has seen news coverage of the case to make the connection, "Hey, that looks like someone I saw last week."
If they are searching for a body, unfortunately I think that might be a long, hard task. Virginia is full of rural areas with dense forests and mountains and farms and plenty of areas that aren't regularly, if ever, walked by people. The James River goes right through Scottsville (I have used the landing many times), and there are so many tributaries within one or two hours' drive. Many of which have plenty of access points where no one would ever see you.
Think to Morgan Harrington and Hannah Graham. So many people were looking for them and it stilll took months. It seems like very few people are aware of this case and there seems to be a good deal of time surrounding when she was last seen.
I wonder if they have real evidence that makes them think she is deceased, or if they are going on suspicion and the fact that none of her accounts or social have seen activity for a year.
Captain Wells told Dateline that Renee’s case is still considered an active missing persons investigation at the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office.
“It’s definitely one of the weirdest cases I’ve ever worked. There’s been a lot of late nights trying to think of something to do,” he told Dateline. “It’s one of those cases where the more you look, the more questions you have.”
Let's keep the conversation going on Janet's case. This is another one in Va. that seems solvable.
