Why Amber Alert wasn't issued in missing 5-day-old child case
The case did not rise to the level of an Amber Alert.
“The reason being is that the two parties involved in this had some sort of, and I'm not sure the exact definition, but there was a custody agreement somewhere or another,” Sgt. Rick Garletts of the Virginia State Police said.
While Tatianna's parents remain in jail without bail, Hatcher said the child is currently in a foster home.

My heart dropped when I first started reading and saw that sweet face, so happy to read on and know she is safe!

This was strange one. She was found safe with the male arrested for abuse and neglect. The mom was arrested as well. I hope the little one is ok, she is so adorable.

Search warrant: Radford missing baby case started with drug worries
The parents of a Radford newborn who went missing last week were trying to conceal drug use and the infant's possible withdrawal symptoms, according to a search warrant.
A search warrant filed last week recounts how the city Department of Social Services were told that on or around July 4, a pregnant Cochran had gone to North Carolina to prepare to give birth because she was worried about testing positive for narcotics. Cochran left another child, a 2-year-old, and 10 diapers with her sister, the search warrant said.

Plea agreements end Radford missing baby case

The parents of a baby who was briefly the subject of a police search last summer resolved their cases Tuesday with plea agreements that reduced their charges and ordered them to follow directions about child care or substance abuse treatment.

Andy Alexander Bosier, 41, and Samantha Marie Cochran, 25, had back-to-back hearings in Radford Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court where each was sentenced to 12 months in jail. Judge Stephanie Murray Shortt suspended 11 months and 20 days of the sentence and noted that with credit for time served earlier in the case, both Bosier and Cochran had met their obligations.
