...Yvette Gervais, the girl's mother, said she was relieved. "I wanted them involved days ago," she said Wednesday.
...The FBI team will likely continue to search the area by the docks of Harry Todd Park in Tillicum through Thursday, he said. In the meantime, teams of detectives are investigating all other leads, tips and possibilities. They are interviewing the 51 register sex offenders who live near Adre-Anna's home.

"We have to interview them and verify what they've told us. It's time-consuming and we do not yet have a person of interest nor have we eliminated anyone as a suspect," Farrar said.

..."We're torturing ourselves, wishing so hard we had not let her go," Gervais said Tuesday.

var bnum=new Number(Math.floor(99999999 * Math.random())+1); document.write(''); var campaignID = "Advertising.com_1005-300"; var maxViews = 4; var maxMinutes = 1440; var classID = "Advertising300"; var capit = 1; She said Adre-Anna enjoyed visiting Henry Todd Park, but because she could not swim she was not allowed to go there alone.

...Lakewood police Officer Joe Sandall said new dogs were brought in Tuesday for another search of the same areas.

Gervais said she gave police one of Adre-Anna's tennis shoes that had not been handled or worn by others for the new search.

Gervais also said that she and the girl's father, Jon Federicci, willingly endured more than 10 hours of questioning by police on Friday evening so officers could clear them of any involvement in the girl's disappearance.

"That's why we were willing to talk to them, so we could get that done with and extend the search," Gervais said.

..."I don't think she's in there. I hope she's not in there," Gervais said. "That keeps me going. I would have cracked by now otherwise."

KOMO stated searchers found some items of interest. It was very vague and open ended. Please post, if anyone hears anything more definitive.

KING 5 news had very little new information. Below is a quote from Adre-Anna's pastor. In the video the pastor looked quite distraut. For the full story the link is below.

Adre-Anna's pastor said she's a cheerful girl, who wouldn't run away. But she was also searching for a caring adult.
"We have a very sad feeling of what may have become of Adre-Anna," said David Anderson. "It's incomprehensible to us to think that she has disappeared beyond a trace."

Prayers for Adre-Anna.

As I said, the video of the parents didn't set off my hinky meter. I know it looks bad that stepdad assaulted her. But seeing them looked like he was being very cooperative. Mom may have been medicated but she did seem genuine and did cry. Not boo hoo but tears like she had cried for days.
I think the FBI is on this because they want the guy and have some good clues we don't know about. I think it is stranger abduction.
I have been wrong before and will be wrong again.

I don't know enough about the case, and haven't watched any video, but I can tell you this about criminals. You never know. You really, really, can't tell. They do studies with judges and attys all the time to see if they can tell who's lying. They fail.

My husband, who is the best judge of character I know, was completely duped by a neighbor this summer. I reported the neighbor for possible child abuse (LONG story), and the neighbor came over to talk man to man with my husband. I figured that this creep would have a record a mile long, but hubby believed neighbor when he told police he'd never taken a breathalyzer, never been in trouble, etc. Wadda know? I look him up, 3 drunk driving convictions, 2 felonies - drugs and burglary, and a LONG history. Hubby couldn't believe someone looked him in the eye and lied and he couldn't tell.

No duping here. just going by video the parents are out of it. This is stranger abduction.
I would bet on it.

Detectives Speak With Missing Girl's Stepfather

UPDATED: December 8, 2005

LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- FBI agents will return to a Pierce County Lake Thursday to resume their search for a 10-year-old Lakewood girl missing since last Friday.

Police are talking to Adre-Anna Jackson's stepfather, who was the last person to see her, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

John Federici said he last saw her on Friday, as she was walking from their apartment in Lakewood to school.

Federici was arrested in 2002 and charged with third-degree assault for allegedly punching Jackson and pulling her hair during an argument. Jackson reported Federici "smacked her in the head and scratched her face," according to court documents. He was convicted on a reduced charge of misdemeanor assault.

Police are not calling Federici a suspect, and they're not revealing much about what he's told them.

"I'm not going to get into any of that at this point. I don't want to compromise the investigation," said Lakewood Police Lt. Brett Farrar. "All I can say is we're looking at anybody and everybody that's had anything to do with this little girl."

Detectives are also speaking with the 51 registered sex offenders who live within walking distance of Jackson's home.

Meanwhile, national Web sites about missing children have posted information about the case.

KIRO 7 news has a story titled,'Detectives Speak to Missing Girls Stepfather". There is very little new to report. Police detective Farrar is quoted in the article.

Possible New Clue In Missing Girl Case

POSTED: December 9, 2005

LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- Authorities in Pierce County found a possible new clue in the search for a missing 10-year old girl. A boat was found floating on the opposite end of American Lake from where the FBI has been searching for signs of Adre'anna Jackson.

Friday morning, crime scene specialists will begin the task of going through the boat to see it will provide any answers to the whereabouts of Adre'anna, who disappeared Dec. 1.

The FBI joined the search a few days after the girl disappeared, canvassing the water with special sonar equipment.

The boat was described as 14 to 15 feet long with a small motor, but authorities don't know yet if it's connected to the case.

"The problem with something like this is if you don't do everything, then you end up needing it in 2, 3 weeks or a month later," said Lt. Bret Farrar, Lakewood Police Department. "It's all precautionary at this point."

After the boat was hauled away, officers returned to the lake and picked up a nearby dumpster. They said they don't know if it will provide any clues, but they are being cautious since the area had not been searched before.

Mother Of Missing Girl Gets Some Family Support

[font=verdana, arial,geneva]SEA-TAC AIRPORT - The mother of a missing girl in Lakewood is getting much-needed moral support as family members fly in to help in the search. It was exactly a week ago that Adre'Anna Jackson disappeared on her way to school.

Up to now, Adre-Anna's mother, Yvette Gervais, has pretty much been going it alone in the effort to find her daughter. An older daughter was here for a time and friends are helping. But now she's getting much needed family support.

Gervais' sister, Liz Herndon, arrived from Denver. KOMO 4 News was invited along to be here for the family reunion -- one that comes under difficult circumstances. "She's always been there for me and we're just going exercise our support for each to continue on with what we need to do," Gervais said.

I realize this isn't the case discussion thread but since I don't yet see a discussion thread for this case I have to say I wonder at the mother not knowing school was not in session. Most kids pay attention to any possibility of not having to go to school and are sure to let the mom know so they can just stay home and play. And I would think that most parents would also pay attention to radio reports each morning just in case. . . so how did this child get sent to school on a day when there was no school? Something not quite right about that story.
in the video story I heard them say that the father had walked her half way to the school that morning, why walk her halfway? that is fishy sounding to me, if I was walking my kid to school, I would walk her far enough to the school that I could see her go into it. was this her real father or a step dad? either way I think the parents were very irresponsible in not knowing that school was out because of the weather, when I was in school I always made it a point to watch for school closings related to the weather. something other than an abduction has taken place here.

I heard the step-father walked her half way to the school that morning... and I agree that it does sound a little fishy.

I also heard search dogs led handlers (and LE) to the pond / lake near by.
