Given the facts (subsequent arrests confirming she was a runaway and alive) it seems quite possible that Alexis is out there and still alive. With this in mind there seems one lead worth pursuing from standard searches. In 1991 (15 June 1991) a Sherry Ann McGallion married Travis Lee Merchant in Las Vegas (source: Ancestry). Whilst it is possibly unconnected and a coincidence the location is conveniently near to Alexis' last known sightings and Sherry Ann McGallion is not a common name (I found only one other, born in Texas in 1969). The problem is testing this lead. The usual sources (radaris and the like) list a Travis Lee Merchant with various addresses in Delaware, Virginia and Oklahoma (and an alias of Travis Lee Butcher) who appears to be married to a Shelly Merchant - and both have an indicated DoB of 1971, the same as Alexis. And there the trail ends. I would assume this is the couple married in Las Vegas (radaris etc are more prone to error such as Shelley rather than Sherry than a state marriage index on Ancestry). Does anyone have any ideas on how to move this forward?
