GUILTY WA - Six Anderson family members slain in Carnation home, 24 Dec 2007

The article does mention that McEnroe's trial has been tentatively set for January, but does not give a specific date. I'm going to try searching court records, if they're available.

The judge has once again delayed McEnroe's trial, and the case is in a confusing legal limbo. Six years since the murders, and no end in sight to the legal delays.

McEnroe has attempted to plead guilty in order to avoid a death sentence:

Six years (!) and who knows when these two murderers will be held to account for their heinous crimes? What is wrong with the state of Washington and its justice system?!

Fed up after six years without a trial, supporters of the victims of the Carnation Christmas Eve massacre are taking their complaints about Judge Jeffrey Ramsdell to the court of public opinion. "We want the death penalty, and we want it now," said Connie Boomer. "It's beyond ridiculous."

Six members of the Anderson family were shot to death as they prepared to celebrate Christmas Eve at their home in 2007. Two children, ages 5 and 3 were among the dead. Authorities say Michele Anderson and her boyfriend Joe McEnroe initially confessed to the crimes, but the case has dragged on over technicalities -- mostly surrounding the death penalty being sought by prosecutors. No trial date has been set.

Okay, this is going to take forever now to get to trial. The state Supreme Court in Washington has blocked the trial judge's ruling that could have potentially opened the way for guilty pleas in the case. A stay has been issued, and the case will be argued at some unknown time before the court. No date has been set for the hearing.

Get ready for a few more years of waiting.

It's simply absurd. More than six years since their arrest, and a trial is not even on the radar screen!

still arguing over whether it will be death penalty or not, no trial date set for either of them, Michelle has a competency hearing set for September

Almost seven years later, and she has a "competency hearing". This is absurd. Beyond absurd, in fact. At this rate, it might be several more years before this comes to trial. Be prepared for the appeal down the line asserting that her right to a speedy trial was denied.

I can't believe what's happening here in the state of Washington.

McEnroe trial expected to begin January, about time - it has been years of legal wrangling and million of dollars spent

These two might be very old people by the time their date with the executioner arrives.

Finally one of the trials seems to be ready to start tomorrow, about time

Anybody know if they have cameras in court for this trial?
