WA WA - Wilkeson, OtherFem 30-50, UP5691, in woods, Pacific Lutheran Univ sweatshirt, Reeboks, Oct'97

Would it be outside of the realm of possibility to think this might be Misty Copsey? She was last seen wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with an unknown logo and jeans like this UID. The shoes and heights don't match, but the PMI and location do...
I don't remember her having a jaw injury, but the fact that the clothes match exactly, and Wilkeson is a 30 min drive from the Puyallup fairgrounds is striking.

Misty was only 14 years old. I know sometimes they are off by a few years, but I don't think they'd be that far off when aging skeletal remains. MOO

That's true. For some reason I thought the age was 20-50, but looking at the Namus page it shows 'Adult pre-50'. Misty was 5'8 which is pretty tall for a 14 year old. These remains have an estimated height of 5'5. I wonder what shoe size Misty was. A shoe size of 4.5 (even if its little boys sizes) makes me think the UID wasn't done growing. Her jeans were a size 7, which is a junior's size, not a womens size.

You are right, girls tend to be close to their adult height/weight at 14. I was already 5'7" and wore a boys size 5 by 14. But I think anthropological aging of skeletal remains tends to be pretty spot on, especially when it comes to adult vs juvenile. *shrug

I tried to map where she was last seen and the locations where her various belongings were found but I can't find information specific enough to figure out where exactly the items were found. I also wish we knew where the suspect's grandmother's property is, so we could see the relation of that to the other scenes, but I doubt they would release that info.

This Doe is now listed as "other" instead of white or unknown race. It also describes her hair as "blond to brown" instead of just brown as quoted earlier in the thread.

Just wanted to say her features appear AA or biracial to me. But features alone are often very deceptive. Like Princess Blue who was throught to be black or biracial but was white and Manchester JD (still UID) who was believed to be white but DNA showed he was African American.

Maybe Deborah Yvonne Wims (MP14096)? Missing Oct 25, 1990 from Seattle, WA. She's about the right height and age, and her car was found on the southside of the city, about 31 miles from where this body was found. She was thought to be a victim of the Green River killer.

She was last seen wearing a green bomber jacket and jeans, though if she was a Green River victim I'm not sure if that would help since he liked to mix the clothing of his victims.

"Among the clothing was a pair of white Reebok athletic shoes with blue and yellow trim, size 4 1/2 under the UK system. That translates to a 6 or a 6 1/2 woman's shoe in the American system."

"The remains appeared to have been placed in a depression in the ground between some logs, and then covered over with brush and branches."

"Investigators have turned to the Russell brand sweatshirt. It bears the logo of the 1994-95 PLU men's basketball team and is one of only 300 made."

"Investigators have accounted for about 50 sweatshirts worn by players, coaches, trainers, and other staff members. The other 250 sweatshirts were sold to the public to help raise money."

"Bones from the right arm and the lower leg are missing."

"The body might have been in the area for as long as 2 1/2 years."

"Forensic anthropologists say the skeleton is that of a woman 30 to 50 years old. She could have been White, Asian, or American Indian and was 5'2"-5'4"."

"She'd once suffered a broken right thigh bone and had surgical wire in the lower jaw."

"She had 17 teeth with a thin enamel coat, indicating possible bulimia."
