The longest we should be down is about 15 minutes. The only reason you'd want to look at the Twitter is if it lasts a long time due to an unforeseen delay. You don't have to sign up to Twitter to read the announcements.
just informed me that it will be a couple of days before you'll see the upgrade. He's going to have the mods play with it a little bit first, so we can learn how to help assist everyone.
