I’d like to think he’s resigned to being a mass murderer sentenced to hundreds of years of prison. That it has dawned on him that he’s just a killer and he’s hopeless.
But if he represents himself in his other trials I expect him to be the same as in the Parade Attack trial. His somber affect right now is just more manipulation, imo.

Waukesha Parade murderer Darrell Brooks sentenced in separate case
Brooks took a plea deal Monday for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon in July 2020.

Judge David Feiss sentenced Brooks to two years in prison plus two years of probation but acknowledged it's a punishment that doesn't matter given his current life imprisonment.

A family of four is suing convicted killer Darrell Brooks over the "extreme emotional distress" and trauma he caused by murdering six people and injuring dozens more right in front of their eyes.

#DarrellBrooks hearing is about to start. They are putting a stun belt on him.
Deputy is in the back talking to the judge in #DarrellBrooks. They are getting a stun belt on Brooks. Our photog is only hearing bits of the conversation but sounds like Brooks might be mad that his attorney is on Zoom.
Brooks was wheeled in. He looks like he had a lot to say (we had no audio). Judge then asked everyone to clear the courtroom...for now.
Brooks wanted to talk to his lawyer privately so the courtroom has been cleared since his attorney is via Zoom on a monitor in the courtroom.

Jury trial starts Monday with jury selection. It's only expected to last 3 days. #DarrellBrooks is not representing himself this time and appears to be a new and approved version (time will tell). This trial is for charges where he allegedly ran over/ran into Erika Patterson in the same red SUV he was driving when he plowed through the #WaukeshaParade participants.

Darrell Eugene Brooks, known for the Waukesha Parade massacre, is expected to appear in court Friday for a motions hearing ahead of his trial next week. Brooks faces numerous charges including second-degree recklessly endangering safety and battery for allegedly running over the mother of his child, Erika Patterson, with the same SUV he used in the parade attack.

I forget the name of the county this trial is being held in but they.are.not.playing.around!! They still have him strapped to a wheel chair and he’s not even being allowed to stay in the jail during the trial it sounds like. He is going back to his “institution” and being transported back each day for trial. Wow! And look at him so well behaved! He’s a new man! Kudos to the sheriff dept over there!

Jury selection today (likely will seat a jury today and have openings) in WI v. #DarrellBrooks. This is the case where he's accused of running over/hitting girlfriend Erika Patterson with the same red SUV from the Waukesha Parade tragedy.
Sheriff's dept didn't have the staff to transport #DarrellBrooks this morning without leaving other inmates unattended....therefore there's a delay in the start of jury selection waiting for Brooks to be transported.
