Police found one slip on shoe that matched what Elijah possibly had on outside of the apartment dumpsters Tuesday afternoon/evening. This is really bad. Trash day was Tuesday morning for that complex.

The shoe was found by a rain gutter on the side of the building. It was not next to the dumpster.

The local news showed footage of the shoe being bagged up outside of the dumpsters. Tuesday evening. It was also typed in news articles that the shoe was found outside of the dumpsters. The links are in the thread. Maybe there are rain gutters near the dumpsters, but I got the information from news articles posted in this thread.

They would of picked up the item from where it was left. You see law enforcement in front of dumpsters in the video.

They clearly state the shoe was found beside the building AND investigators collected evidence from the dumpster.

"Tuesday night, a WISN 12 News crew observed investigators collect a small, slip-on shoe with dinosaurs on it from the ground at the side of the apartment building. The shoe matches the description of what authorities said Elijah was last seen wearing.".

The shoe was NOT next to the dumpster.

You can also see in this video that it is in different spots. The shoe was next to the building by a rain spout AND they collected evidence from the dumpster.

Outside of the dumpsters is the area you are describing.
Did you watch the videos I posted? It was not next to the dumpster. You can see when they show the video of them photographing it and they zoom out. You can also look for a rain spout in the dumpster video. Also, you can look up the apartment on Google maps and see that the rain spouts on the end of the buildings are far enough from the dumpster to show that it being "outside the dumpster" is a stretch.

It actually looks like it was found on the opposite side of the building when comparing the video (note the tree on the left, bush on right, and them being on the corner of the building) to Google maps.

Vang also had consumed alcohol when Elijah went missing, and the stipulations, if he posts bail, are that he must maintain sobriety of alcohol and drugs, have no contact with Baur, and have no contact with children. Baur also cannot have contact with Vang or the children if she posts her bail.

They share a defense attorney, Ann Larson, who says that neither is likely to post bail due to monetary reasons, and Vang is not a flight risk even if he did post bail due to the federal supervision he is under.

More than a dozen family members from Elijah’s paternal side showed up in the courtroom, and his aunt LV spoke. She requested that Baur and Vang be held without bail, but that was denied by Manitowoc County Circuit Judge Patricia Koppa.

“They are the last two to have seen our baby Elijah and, at this moment, are the prime suspects,” Vue said. “So until we find out the truth about the whereabouts of Elijah, we would like to make sure these two are readily available for questioning.“

Baur and Vang are due back in court on Monday, Feb. 26, at 1:30 p.m.

Police would also like people with home surveillance or doorbell cameras to check for footage of Elijah. Police are now asking for any video of the boy between February 12 and February 20.

Police, the FBI, and other agencies have set up shop at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish. According to a post on social media, police asked to use portions of the building over the weekend.

When looking for someone in a landfill, what are the success rates? Seems like a daunting challenge. Praying this child is not there but they seem very focused, yes?

I wouldn't have a clue about statistics, but they found little Quinton, which was no mean feat so I have hope that if Elijah is there they will find him.

Successful landfill searches are in the minority, but it depends on a lot of factors, and you do get successes sometimes against astounding odds. I think it took a month for them to find Quinton, and he was very, very small and would have been basically bones, partial remains when they found him.

They're in with a shot, and that tends to be enough for the folks who do this incredibly difficult, emotionally harrowing, and unbelievably dangerous work. It's a specialised skill set, and they take the win every time they actually find someone.

MOO

On Saturday, there was a large police presence in the woods just behind the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Action 2 News’ Brittany Schmidt was at the scene of that ground search on Saturday.

Around noon on Saturday, law enforcement officials started showing up at the church, and their presence grew by the minute. Police combed the woods behind the neighborhood where Elijah is said to have disappeared.

To continue keeping our community informed, we felt it important to share the following facts:
Elijah has not been located. We are aware of at least one fake video circulating social media that shows the recovery of a minor by officers. Again, beware of scams seeking your money and personal information, but also those now looking to take advantage of this unfortunate incident. The Two Rivers Police Department is your source for facts regarding this case, and we will continue to update the community as we are able and as timely as we can
.

It seems like they don't have just one location they're looking into anymore. Maybe they zeroed in on the landfill because of the shoe in the vicinity of a dumpster. Landfill, church woods, waterways, dumpsters, air search...

I have to wonder what, if anything, the "mother" and "caretaker" have said.
