So I started thinking about why LE was so interested in the casino. They were looking into checking it out on day 1. I am thinking the reason was because dad owed somebody a lot of money in gambling debts that might have not been repayed. MOO I wanted to be an FBI agent but am too old:)

There’s a weirdness here that needs explaining one way or the other. I don’t think it is clear, and we can’t know with the facts we have. It’s important to moving forward to what happened next.
Well, here's another scenario I just thought of. They had a dog.

Could the Dad have had a nightly routine, where before he went to bed, he took the dog out for a small walk to do his/hers business? Someone might have known this was a routine late at night for the father and the dog. The perp gets in the house after the Dad is a little bit of a distance away from the door, goes in and locks it. The father then hears screaming or possibly a gun shot, tries to open the door, then tries to kick it in because he probably never locked it before or needed his keys to get in.

It may sound far fetched to some here, but it is possible that something like this occurred.

Casinos always have surveillance cameras. Some of the cameras will point towards the highway.

Welcome to Webseluths. Stay here with us where we pretend to be FBI. :p

Why would the perp kick in the door?

Dad goes to door because he hears knocking or doorbell,

Then what? He asks who is there and they kick in the door which would take time.

The frame is not splintered. The actual several inched thick door is splintered as shown in the previous thread.

Not a hollow core door.

So why does dad simply not open the door? Why is he there while they are kicking it in?
This is what I think. The perp opened the storm door, that woke the dog up and I think that was the only time the dog barked, a gun shot would have probably sent it under a bed. Dad goes to the door, might have turned on a light. I just don't think the perp knocked or rang door bell nor do I think Dad opened the door, might have asked who's there and that's when the door got kicked in and Dad shot right on the spot. No guesses as to what happened after that.

So you think her father borrowed money to pay for his gambling addiction. Then when he didn't pay the loan shark sent someone to collect, but instead of collecting he killed the parents and kidnapped Jayme? I think the muscle is going to have a LOT of explaining to do if you're correct.

What's your source for the father's gambling addiction and money problems? TIA
I am not saying that this is what happened, but there is a casino near by.

I have been thinking about the online gaming somemore. There are thousands of different games with chatrooms. Theirs also games like IMVU which is similar to sims but you communicate with real people and chat with them, and theirs no monitoring at all. Theirs also card game chat rooms, even online games inspired by tv reality games like survivor or big brother, where you can chat with people as well and make friends. Possibilties are endless. Jayme could of easily made a friend by playing one of these games and they took and intrest in her and pretended to be someone they werent.
Absolutely true. For the most part the pathways and logs to those games and rooms are known, and logically traceable. LE can track them quickly and easily. Where they spend their time is with more sophisticated and developed games, or those occurring on dark sites. My point was that LE gets what is happening. It’s not a surprise or something they don’t think of. MOO

But if you kill the person that owes the debt, it's definitely not getting repaid.

Have you seen TallHotBlond? It's a murder case about a love triangle that started in an online gaming chat room. Super bizarre and terrifying, and yes, involved people pretending to be who they weren't.

See also: Catfish. No murders on that show though.

I do wonder about dad being shot in the doorway if the perp kicked the door in. I wouldn't stand there waiting for the person to get through once they started kicking. Unless the person was highly experienced with kicking in doors and did it with one kick. Or dad was standing right there waiting so he could attempt to take the person down in order to protect his wife and Jayme. But I like the new theory by @Steelslady.
