I spotted this woman on JJ's friends list and counted her as one of his anarchist friends. She lives in the next county here in southern Oregon. The FBI came knocking and it turned out that Jakubowski had sent her a copy of his manifesto awhile back. She had gotten through 90 pages before he disappeared.

Chen says she hopes Jakubowski isn’t sent to prison. She told NBC5 News she believes he needs to move to Oregon or someplace similar, where his views will be better accepted. :eek:

MUSKEGO — An FBI spokesman said a management team is still deciding whether to give the $20,000 reward for the capture of fugitive Joseph Jakubowski to the Muskego resident who reported finding him on his land in rural Vernon County.

The FBI has to go through a process before giving any rewards, said Leonard Peace, public affairs specialist with the FBI. He said Tuesday, April 25, he had no information on when a decision will be made.
 
Joseph Jakubowski is asking a Rock County Court judge to move his case to another county or to get its jury from another county.

A jury trial in the case is set for Jan. 22, but the change requested could delay proceedings.

Jakubowski was already convicted in federal court on related charges and sentenced to 14 years in prison. He insisted on a trial in that case but then admitted the burglary when he testified.

The federal judge allowed Jakubowski to argue his political philosophy, which apparently has its roots in anarchism, during sentencing in U.S. District Court in Madison on Dec. 20.

Jakubowski wrote in a 10-page letter to Rock County Judge James Daley in November: “I ask at my trial, just call me up there right away! Don’t insult or degrade me! Let me give the public the truth. ... I did it! So what! I’ll do it again. Death to the system!”

Jakubowski's lawyer said it’s unlikely his client will enter a guilty plea in the local case, either, so the state’s case against him is likely to go to trial.

Daley is scheduled to hear arguments and decide the issue at a hearing at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rock County Courthouse.

The trial, on charges of burglary while arming himself, theft and possession of burglary tools, got underway Monday with jury selection. It’s likely to be one of the oddest trials in county history.

The trial is scheduled for three days, but court officials have said it might take no more than two.

Several news outlets have been granted permission to have their cameras in court, including TV stations from Madison and Milwaukee.

Law and Crime Network plans to live-stream the trial starting with opening statements, which would begin after the jury is selected, possibly sometime Tuesday.
