GUILTY WI - Julie Jensen, 40, dies of antifreeze poisoning, Pleasant Prairie, 3 Dec 1998 *husband guilty*

That seems a little harsh. She remembered what she remembered - I don't think they want witnesses reviewing their testimony in order to parrot exactly what was said before. That's a lot of years and certainly not the only thing she's experienced in all those years. Things you learn "after the fact" can color what you actually remember from the initial experience, so best to stick with what you are sure you remember clearly.
I took this to mean that Gardenista couldn’t remember her testimony? I could be wrong. Honestly I can’t remember her testimony either.

IMO he was guilty the first trial and time doesn't change that. I really hate it when these murderers get to re-victimize those affected by their actions. As if they haven't already done enough damage.......

You're going down again Killer!

Keeping the faith,

For some reason I haven’t been able to muster much interest in watching the trial. I’m sort of keeping track on here but not watching. I think a retrial feels anticlimactic and it’s like we already know he’s guilty and everybody has to go through the motions. I wonder if that’s what’s making the judge and prosecutor a bit prickly. It all just feels like a waste. This guy will be convicted again. He already had his day in court and this second trial feels like an insult to everyone’s time…..to go through this sociopath’s twisted maneuvers all over again. Ugh.

I know he’s entitled due to the error in the 1st trial.

This is footage from original trial.Assuming this older witness is no longer available for this trial.

Policeman testifying about pornographic material given to him by Julie. This went on for years.

Prosecutor Robert Jambois (RJ): This (photo) is a man’s erect penis?

Officer: Yes

RJ: Some pictures had writing on them some didn’t. What did they say?

Officer: Remember when we did it this way? Is he as big as I am?

Officer suspected Mark Jensen was making the harassing calls and leaving pictures Julie didn’t believe it could be Mark.

Police leave trace on phone and calls stop.

Police ask Julie not to tell Mark about trace but she does anyway. Calls stop.

Harassing phone calls and graphic photographs found at Mark’s work. Photos found in child’s bedroom.

Comparing photographs now. Lots of coughing , drinking water, and uncomfortable fidgeting by attorneys and bailiff.

Jeez, I’d just say “Give me the needle,” if I were him. How humiliating.

Now they are going through photos one by one. Gah! Mark gulping water. Mark gazing intently at photos. Leaning forward.

Now showing Mark’s list she found.
Aspirin
Razor blades
Patches
Shells
Syringe
Nicotrol
Librium
Terri
Bag handles

Not buying that defendant needs those headphones. It's a way for him to stay detached and sort of removed from the trial imo.Like an observer. Surprised he's not wearing a mask too. And that he needs some sort of head covering as well for religious reasons. Sorry not a fan of his. All imo. Why does he get to wear a suit? Never understood how some defendants can not have to wear prison uniform and others do. Like Murdoch. Will Google.

(Quoting myself to make this point.)

Poor Julie believed in her husband and refused to believe he could be doing these things to her. Even after police advised her they thought it was him and told her not to tell him about the phone trace, she still believed in Mark and admitted to police she had told him about the phone trace.

How much later did she start to believe he was trying to kill her!? Was there any evidence as to why she didn’t get the heck outta there once she started to suspect he was trying to poison her?

Former co-worker, his ex-wife testify

Ed Klug

JoAnne Klug

After a number of drinks, Klug testified he and some other people were at a financial conference in November 1998. The conversation started in the bar. Later in the lobby, Mark Jensen told Klug he had a problem – his wife – as he was seeing a woman, another co-worker, on the side.

"Mark was talking about how to get rid of the problem, basically. You know, websites that you could go to to search how to kill your wife," Klug said. "Then he was talking about poisons, and Benadryl, things that could be undetectable."

[…]

“I had placed a phone call to the hotel and they transferred me to (Klug's) room -- and he picked up the phone," testified JoAnne Klug, Ed Klug's ex-wife. "He said he was having the weirdest conversation with Mr. Jensen.

JoAnne Klug said she told Ed to stop. But she too, was curious.

"I was trying to understand how could someone die from Benadryl?" JoAnne Klug testified. "He told me antifreeze.”

[…]

But the two did not want to talk about it further – even after hearing a month later that Julie Jensen died. They did not go to police for years.

Jensen’s defense said the Klugs never brought up the antifreeze or Benadryl when they first talked to police. They also called into question Ed Klug's ability to recall events – considering he had been drinking.

Hmm, I can’t really remember. His shenanigans went on for years so it was probably a gradual fear. It’s a weird conditioning, I think. She probably believed it but didn’t want to believe it. I was afraid of my ex and even told my mom if anything happened to me he did it, but I continued to see him. It’s especially difficult when you have children.

He gets to wear a suit because at this point, he is presumed innocent. The prison clothes are worn by those who have been convicted. imo

I wish I were! This was the first trial I ever watched and I was scarred. I thought all trials were like this. I don’t know about an affidavit but I’m sure it will come up (heh) in this trial, given how prominent (sigh) it was in the last trial.

A rule of thumb for me is every time a husband throws out his dead wife’s clothes in trash bags the day after her death and moves in the next gal before dead wife’s wake they are usually guilty. Maybe not always…okay, yes always.
I love this LOL. Jensen seems to be someone who thinks he's smarter than everybody else, who enjoys manipulating people, and thinks it is fun to play with people's minds. He talked to Klug about his plans because who would believe anybody would actually tell someone and then do something so stupid? Who is going to believe a jail house snitch? Pulling it off would be just a game to him.

I assumed it was about Klug's ex-wife not remembering. However, Jensen's now ex-wife Kelly also took the stand and IIRC had to read out loud all of the steamy emails between her and Jensen. I still think she (Kelly) knew what he intended to do but not sure they could prove she actively participated. I hate that she ended up raising Julie's boys.
