Found Safe WV - Gracelynn Scritchfield, 4, abducted by 'Trey' Hetrick, 6 July 2019 *vehicle spotted in Arizona

4-year-old Gracelynn June Scritchfield was last seen at 785 Husky Highway in Fairmont, West Virginia, on July 6.

She is believed to have been abducted by her biological father, Arlie Edward Hetrick III, also known as Trey.

Trey may be driving a 2001 gold Subaru Forester with West Virginia license plate 1TH163.

Scritchfield is described as a 4-year-old white girl standing 3-feet tall and weighing 35 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. When she was last seen, she was wearing summer attire. Police have no description beyond that of her clothing.

Hetrick III is described as a 26-year-old white man with brown hair and blue eyes, standing 5-feet, 9-inches and weighing 140 pounds.

A 4-year-old girl is missing and believed to be in “extreme danger” after allegedly being abducted in West Virginia.

Police believe Gracelynn was abducted by her father, 26-year-old Arlie “Trey” Hetrick III, during what was supposed to be a routine visit with him.

The child’s mother, Summer Stritchfield, claimed Gracelynn was supposed to be returned home to her by 6 p.m., but when Summer called the girl’s father to check in, he said he’d gone away with Gracelynn on a week-long trip.

UPDATE 7/23/19 2:02 p.m.: The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reports the vehicle believed to be involved in an Amber Alert abduction out of Fairmont, West Virginia was been spotted on Interstate 40 near Holbrook, Arizona on July 17.

It's unclear what direction the gold 2001 Subaru Forester was headed.

According to information from DPS, a vehicle involved in the alleged abduction of a 4-year-old girl was sighted in Navajo County, in northeastern Arizona. This reported sighting prompted Arizona authorities to activate the alert on Tuesday, July 23.

UPDATE: Vehicle tied to Amber Alert for missing 4-year-old girl spotted in Arizona

At 6:47 Monday night an amber alert rang through for 4-year-old Gracelynn Scritchfield. Her mother, SS begging for help to find her after her dad Arlie Hetrick drove off with her for what was supposed to be his normal 3-day visit time.

"His family has been trying to contact him too," said SS.

SS says she's been calling Hetrick since the 7th when he was supposed to return with Gracelynn, but a voicemail is all she's been able to reach. When she finally got a hold of him he told her he was taking Gracelynn on a week-long vacation. To which she was against.

SS says this isn't the first time that Hetrick has acted erratically. She says he's tried to break their shared custody agreement before.

"Him not wanting to bring her back for a couple days. Him not telling me where he's living."

Even if Hetrick took Gracelynn on that vacation, the two should have came back on the 14th.

Hopefully the father will realize that he's going to be caught and will do the right thing and bring Gracelynn home. At the moment nothing indicates he'll harm her but that could change. IMO the key is his motive. IOW, is he "flexing" his parental rights, teaching mom a "lesson" or is this some sort of "if I can't have her nobody will" scenario?

Judging by his Facebook, he appears to be a loving and devoted father. It's hard to reconcile that with Gracelynn being in "extreme danger," but as we know, social media can be deceiving. I wonder if he has any mental health or substance abuse issues?

Hoping this child is found quickly and safe. She is such a darling! MOO

The WV AA was issued Monday 7/22, and the AZ AA on Tuesday (yesterday).
