I am not a handwriting specialist, but the cards imo, seem to all be in the same type of "speak" and the signed "Gabby" appears to be the same in each one as does the handwriting. In this particular SUN article it states "sleuthers say"..... What sleuthers? Where are they reading or getting their info from? Is it what people are saying on Websleuths? Facebook? TikTok? Reddit Twitter? The fact that some cards do not have postage could just be that they were placed in a package with things that were found on trails that the nephews might like. Also, the article says she was a better artist than this....I have young nephews and when I write to them, I do not go all Michelangelo when drawing a pic for them. I understand this could be a clue as to what he was doing after GP's death. But I am just not seeing that is the case with these post cards. But, of course I could be wrong.

Brian Laundrie 'wrote postcards pretending to be Gabby Petito after she died'

I hope the FBI has surveillance camera video of BL arriving at the NP shower and laundry facility at Colter Bay (if he did go there). I also hope the FBI has whatever clothes he was wearing. If those clothes are missing it says a lot. MOO

Paying someone $1 for repeated bad advice in a state where he's not authorized to practice law in a field in which he has no experience is a worse deal than paying a competent local attorney for advice.

Not every lawyer requires a $25,000 retainer. You can pay someone $400 for an hour of their time and get competent advice. I really don't understand this obsession with defending the objectively bad decision to have your friend LARP as a criminal defense lawyer when your son is being sought by the feds.
THIS!

Does anyone believe all of their registered cell phones and landlines are currently wire tapped? Not opening up the burner phone discussion, just curious on typical practice, if FBI would do this based on BL missing person/wanted fugitive?

You can all “duh” me hehe but this seems staged to me by Brian. His folks got him a new AT&T phone which “he left at home” when he went for his “hike.” I never run without one in case of injury, getting off course or other. He is an experienced hiker and camper, likely had a burner phone and other devices to help navigate. As far as over the border, over the bother where? Cuba? Another island? Texas is a long way away let alone then heading south to that border <modsnip>

< referenced part of quoted post was modsnipped>
He could fly to Mexico and be there in a Caribbean paradise in just a couple hours, but he would have to show a passport, and Mexican customs and border DOES NOT PLAY.

well, I agree with you about its viability as a plan; but it makes perfect sense if (read "since", IMO) Brian's parents don't believe he was responsible for Gabby's death.

Don't think you need a criminal attorney; you won't hire a criminal attorney (Again, IMO).

I think they're wrong as the devil's right hand; but this doesn't mean they're not capable of such a thought process.

Yes. Based off what I have seen in other recent cases with MP's and phones I would guess that is likely... Snapchat and other social accounts are probably being monitored too

If they've sicced interpol on him, start heating the oven for the goose. Please let's not speculate that he's in N Korea. "Four member states of the United Nations are currently not members of Interpol: Micronesia, North Korea, Palau and Tuvalu." Interpol - Wikipedia

Seems to me on the 6th they all got together in DeSoto to plan what all needed to be done to hide and lose any evidence. Sister might be a bigger story in the potential help or collusion. Did she take some items and what vehicle did BL drive there. Where did his sister go after he left Sept 1 and after Sept 6? Out of town at all? Interesting developments

Well, there *is* this:
"We were in Orlando on vacation with my kids at Disney and we came back to this."
from: ABC Exclusive: Full interview with Brian Laundrie's sister on Gabby Petito

I have always thought the end of the sentence was:

"I assumed he flew back because that's what he did when he is having an episode/breakdown."

JMO and pure speculation but if he is captured and tried I think a big part of his defense will be mental illness related. Rose's interview said he heard voices and had breakdowns in the past. Something like schizophrenia is often first diagnosed around his age (not saying he has it, I'm no doctor, but hearing voices makes you wonder what a doctor would say).

It does not excuse murder and it is really not likely to contribute to an insanity defense but it is something that can be raised to mitigate or try to explain the behaviors.

Yup, thought the same thing.

I'm speculating mom and dad are use to picking up the bill for BL.

Thank you so much.

I agree there are bruises in both places. The ones on her shoulder are not as concerning (she is engaging in a sport that definitely produces bruises - although those are finger sized).

It's the one on the side of her neck that's really concerning. I just don't see how one could get a finger shaped bruise right there through any sport or simply bumping into something.

Great sleuthing, Shelbycat. I assume FBI are aware, but one wonders...

Horrific but likely a clue to how she died and how they can confidently call it homicide. He can’t claim he accidentally strangled her to death.

So he drives back from WY, switches vehicles and drives up to see his sister? I'd be getting some sleep!

I don't think she says when she saw him. Maybe he napped and went later. Or maybe he didn't nap and went later. Or maybe he did see her on his way to his parents. Idk. But I'm not jumping to his sister is a blatant liar based on the very limited information we have. jmo

Is there anyway you can zoom in on a TikTok or do you have to save the file? It may be good for someone to either screenshot or reupload the video after zooming if possible. The clip you reference is less than a second and is about a quarter of the way through the TikTok.

screenshot of the video.

hth.

Yesterday, there was a discussion about why BL would go walking/hitchhiking after August 27...and I figure that the answer is that after killing Gabby, he worried about forensic evidence on his body and was afraid to get into the van.

So he walked/hitched to Colter Bay to shower up and then went back to the van to leave. Pretty simple. He doesn't strike me as the type to know much about cadaverine and when it's detectable, he was freaked out and figured that he needed to clean up before getting back in the van...
