I'm bracing for the audio we will hear with killer commenting on young girls during a jail tour.

Lunch til 1:15

They're breaking for lunch. Back at 1:15 p.m.

Judge sounds as though she is getting a little weary and ready to break for lunch.

Has anything been going on in the court room since ME left?

Found it. It was the woman who was parked with her husband at Walmart.

O.K. I just looked at it. Very obvious smirk on face of defendant. What I did find odd, too, though was how the woman on the stand had to look around the courtroom in order to identify the defendant. As if she didn't know that he was on trial and exactly where he'd be sitting!

What's that all about, Bravo? Who was touring the jail? I had not heard that before.

Sorry if this has been asked before...just joining in on trial...
Is this being broadcasted on the net anywhere?

Apparently it was stated in Opening. I had to step away and only caught part of it. I asked about it here and somebody kindly responded several pages later. Something about young girls on a jail tour. Killer comments about wanting to meet up with one at Walmart and some disgusting remarks about a girls behind. I'll see if I can find something.

That was odd indeed. As was her habit of answering questions with all sorts of extra details about her own life added in. I suspect partly nervousness (which I would 100% have too if it were me) plus her not completely understanding the context/relevance of her own testimony.

That's o.k., Bravo. I can go back and listen to the opening. Time for lunch for your "Grands"!

I'm confused about this -- did they actually have a tour of girls thru the jail?

ETA:

Donald Smith calls young girls his 'target area,' alludes to Walmart abduction, say prosecutors

While Donald Smith sat in jail, charged with the rape, kidnapping, and murder of 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle in June 2013, prosecutors secretly recorded him in his cell.

Prosecutors said that in the fourth clip the inmates discuss the physical attributes of the victim. Caliel said it features “the other inmate asking whether or not the victim in this case had a butt.”

Caliel says Smith responded, “She had a lot of butt for a white girl.”

Yes. I missed a good part of the prosecution's opening -- until you posted your link where the volume was audible.

I wrote that off as nervousness and what seems to be a natural inclination of many southerners to over share.

moo

ETA: The older lady who saw the van shared that she didn't even put her shoes on when she drove back to investigate.

LOL I wish I could find the posters response. If I find it I'll post. Grands have eaten. I am watching them both thru patio doors. On squirrel alert. Their black coats look lovely against the foot and a half of snow in the back yard (Grrrrrrrrrrrr..........)

Today was incredibly difficult. Part I found difficult yesterday was watching Walmart video. Him standing and staring at Cherish. Then we could see the arrows moving closer together. I wanted to scream "run"!!!! A little girl bouncing around the store, full of life. For a short time.

OMG I'm trying to remember a case where an ME has struggled like this. I can't. Poor, poor Cherish. Darling girl, you didn't deserve this. I'm so, so sorry for what this 🤬🤬🤬 put you through. I'm at work and nearly crying. Trying to keep it together but DAMN, this is so hard to hear.

I don't think they'll put DS on the stand. Nothing to be gained from it.
