I'm confused about something. He has roommates. The WLOS article says they noticed him missing Sunday June 26 when he didn't meet them at the concert. If he went missing on June 24, wouldn't his roommates have noticed him missing two days earlier, well before the concert?

It's also a popular mountain biking area. It's hard to believe a car would be parked there for very long without being noticed.

Search to resume Friday for missing Asheville man after car found in remote area

The car of missing man, Gabe Focaracci, has been found, according to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office.

“His car was parked at a pull-off near a hiking trail,” Smith said. “It was on Curtis Creek Road. It’s a gravel road. It’s in a very rugged, mountainous area of the county.”

Smith said the search for Focaracci will resume at 9 a.m. Friday. He said the search area is dangerous. The terrain is tough, and searchers have encountered several rattlesnakes. According to Smith, they’re utilizing dogs to help track Focaracci.

Focaracci, age 20, has been missing since June 24. His family is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his safe return.

His family said he has high-functioning autism.

Missing 4 weeks: Family of Asheville man with autism desperate for answers

It's been one month since a 20-year-old man with autism went missing from the Asheville area.

“We just are at a loss as to what has happened,” Rochelle Focaracci said. “We have to find him. We definitely think something has happened to him. He’s gullible, he wants friends. He’s embarrassed about his autism, so he does a lot of masking and mirroring.”

Rochelle Focaracci has set up a tip line and a Facebook page in hopes people will submit photos of possible sightings, questions or any information that may lead to Gabe’s location. So far, more than two dozen tips have come in.

Right now, Gabe’s car sits at a tow lot in Asheville. An APD spokesperson said nothing of significance was found inside.
