Authorities trying to solve the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie say they might tap DNA genealogy databases, the same step that police took to unravel a decades-old series of murders in California and the fatal stabbings of four college students in Idaho.

The strategy could be fruitful: If unidentified DNA evidence can be connected to someone — even a distant relative — in a common genealogical database, it would give investigators more information and possibly lead to a suspect in Guthrie’s kidnapping in Arizona.

“It’s a fantastic tool,” said Ruth Ballard, a geneticist in California who specializes in DNA and has testified in hundreds of court cases. “If it’s a good quality sample and they’re able to get a profile, they could find a hit on that fairly quickly.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said DNA collected so far in the investigation has not turned up any matches in a national criminal justice database known as CODIS, which has DNA profiles from convicted criminals and, in some states, people arrested for certain crimes.

So now we may know why those dates for activity the Sheriff mentioned were so important. Any video footage or anything unusual in the neighborhood from Jan 1st until present, especially Jan 11th.

Somebody had googled Nancy's address and SG's salary on the 11th. Wow.

Are those marks from before LE entered the house? Then it may be drag marks from her heels in the gravel.
Are they from after LE entered the house? Then it could be anything the LE had with them, like a big box or other equipment.

“She couldn’t walk 50 yards by herself,” Nanos said at the news conference, noting that while Nancy Guthrie had mobility issues because of her age, she had no cognitive issues.

Well I just read that they've found "biological evidence" or "foreign DNA" inside the home. Not sure what the nature of this evidence is but that's all I could find.

I wonder if it could be related to the “They got it!”, when the two men who arrived in the vehicle registered to the safe company were at NG’s home on Tuesday.

Would you maybe have to take off your gloves, or at least the outer ones if a thinner pair was worn underneath, to try and deal with a fiddly safe lock mechanism, be it key, numerical pad, combination lock, whichever kind NG had?

After I heard those reports I went on Google trends and found that a "Nancy Guthrie" was Googled from Sierra Vista / Tubac, Arizona on December 28, 2025.

On CNN Live with Laura Coates a few minutes ago, her Former FBI Specialist guest (sorry no name) she's had for several nights in a row, stated something I had not considered.

She stated it is possible that the perp has killed himself following the vast amount of publicity this case has received.

She did not opine further what that would mean for NG, but perhaps if NG has died, the perp considered that his only way out.

I dunno, that got me thinking...

Other than NG being missing, the Nest video, some alien DNA in her domicile, there isn't a lot of evidence. The gloves they found in the area may not even be linked with this at all.

Just a wild guess, but it seems to me that the majority of cartel-phobics do not live in border states..... jmo

I've noticed that there is some weird light movement going on behind him in the part of the video where he is holding the foliage up to the camera. I wondered if it was someone else sweeping a torchlight around, or if it was the movement of car lights in the distance. But it seems to shine inside the porch area, because he is silhouetted against a completely black background before and after, and doesn't seem to be moving his head at all, IMO.

You need to play the video on 0.25 speed to really catch it, between time stamps 0.33 and 0.37 in the video -

I should've said in my post that I don't believe the image is from the same night- different clothes, different shoes, no backpack, and amount of light (moon casting shadows)

I think it must have been from an earlier date and represented someone "casing" the house.
