The truth is we don't really know who called whom, when.And possibly they tried calling NG first and got no answer? so then called AG?
But police for sure know who the family said called, they have checked phones to verify the call did occur, and they have spoken to the person who supposedly called. If someone lied about that call, the posture of the police towards the family would be very different, even to the point of someone being in custody. This is why I am skeptical of the Daily Mail report.
