From the article:

Starting on Thursday, a search and rescue group out of Ohio will be joining the family's efforts to find Daniel. They're bringing German Shepherd cadaver dogs to search along bodies of water near Blue Island.

(I wonder if the S&R group is Equusearch Midwest. They are in Ohio.)
This is the group that is stating they are bringing the dogs to search for Dan. THE SAR Sheps is the name. Log into Facebook I don't think it's part of Equisearch Midwest but appears to be an independent Ohio 501(C)(3) based in Fredericktown, Ohio.
They have 3 dogs - Niko, Esmae, and Chaos. -Certified Cadaver K9 X2 & Area K9. A young lady named Taylor is the handler and founder. Website: Home | The SAR Sheps

Sure hope the search this weekend is successful!

Search turned up nothing this past weekend. Dogs got excited near an iced over pond at one point but a diver was sent in and nothing found. Family appears to be regrouping.

That was such a great episode, and such a sad situation. His daughter is so well spoken.. and what an amazing advocate for her dad. I hope this is resolved soon. He seems like such a kind and wonderful man

[…]

“We believe my dad suffered some type of medical episode while at his apartment during the day. Whether it was a stroke or fall, something in his head to make him disoriented and confused and whatever,” she said. “We know this because of the state of his apartment. His fridge was left open, there’s a TV dinner face down on the ground, things are in kind of just disarray, which is unlike him.”

Davis says her dad’s phone last pinged in his apartment on Nov. 24, 2025, and he was the type to always be on his phone. His bank account is also untouched.

That would explain better the state of his mind, post auto accident and after. My Dad had a mini stroke years ago, he was quite active and fit and suddenly was disoriented and having trouble with balance. Fortunatley I was visiting when it occurred (quite suddenly) and got him to a hospital. He INSISTED I not take him, stating he was "fine,. I'm just tired". These things can happen without warning and often in those younger than you'd think. Keeping the family in our thoughts up here in Chicago.

“Daniel Davis, a Chicago man who has been missing since late November, was found dead Monday in Blue Island.

Blue Island City Administrator Thomas Wogan said Tuesday Blue Island and Cook County sheriff’s police found a body at 3 p.m. Monday in an undeveloped wooded area next to a train track and under a bridge at Midwest American Transloading, adjacent to 3301 Wireton Road in Blue Island when responding to a 911 call.

Police identified the body as Davis by Tuesday afternoon. Wogan said this is an ongoing investigation.

Wendy Davis, Davis’ daughter, also confirmed the report.”

Heartbreaking news - a big part of Chicago was hoping and praying he would be found safely, but I am glad he can be brought home now to his family.

Oh no. This makes me so incredibly sad, but at least the family now have a small bit of closure.. What a terrible tragedy. I'm heartbroken for his sweet daughter.
