With respect, many of us would be under investigation for suspicious searches. I searched "How long does a body take to become skeletal" yesterday after a discussion about this on WS 😅

True but, and I'm just going to throw out a random time period, let's say 2 months. So who in the two months before NG was taken, who searched her address. Then you match it up with other queries in the local area and see if the crumbs lead to the same IP address.

I would imagine a specific search of NG home address in December and January would be very rare. Heck, you had neighbors who didn't know she was the mother of a famous news host.

This doesn't seem to make sense to me - she is appealing to the nation to report anything to law enforcement. Why would they do that if they had a perp in mind?
I think they would want to make someone feel comfortable if they were getting ready to make an arrest. So the perp doesn't flee or get rid of more evidence, or, if NG is still alive, do something drastic if they feel the walls are closing in. just my guess

This will get deleted, but I had to scroll 26 time to read all of this post, while there are notes more compact notes somewhere here. Sorry to be rude, but really.
I have deleted. I won't do a summary and won't ask for a poll anymore

I disagree about misreading tone of former post. They believe something different now...
That’s certainly possible. What struck me is that I had heard a former LE officer or FBI agent being interviewed and he mentioned the importance of getting exactly the kinds of tips that SG just mentioned. Ex. People acting differently, change of routines etc. I wondered why I hadn’t heard LE making those specific appeals. But SG just did. Smart move.

Savannah was remarkably composed there, and still optimistic that her mom is alive.

I see it differently.
she expressed prayers coming to her and her siblings, and then paused and basically said "where ever she is" in relation to the prayers coming to her mother....
To me, that is a feeling that she is not alive.

I think the "she is out there'" is more of a desparate hope for more tips,

4pm on Monday, is she giving notice, that she is not currently in negotiations........

what makes you think they're giving up, genuinely asking?

so few true crime cases are actually high profile, as in known by the general public. that's why they put all those billboards up - the vast majority of people have maybe heard this case in passing or scrolled by it on their social media, if at all. they wouldn't know who nancy is or what she looks like if they saw her at a rest stop. SG is asking people to keep their eyes open.

A pivot to the public right before the deadline seems to indicate they have not received more communication from the "ransomers" or have info that weakens that angle, or they have no resolution on that front. Many ex LE experts have come out in the last two days pointing out the ransom angle/note as very unusual and that they don't think it's real or that they don't think NG is alive.

Right now we have one note that was sent directly to media, not the family, with a weak basis of connection to the scene, and the other note was left as "unveriifed" by investigators and we haven't heard on that front. We'll see more as the deadline today goes by but if there's no proof of life after 8 days or any other comms. then I feel this angle may be fizzling out. But who knows?

I’m surprised we haven’t heard a public plea for Information by LE at this point.

I had been operating from the perspective that they didn’t need the public’s help.

I’m starting to question whether that’s accurate.

It’s 2:12 in Tucson

It would still be circumstantial evidence.

Unless it’s to throw off the perp.
Or a final plea, last ditch effort, to locate the perp and avoid paying the 6M ransom.

This makes it seem like it wasn't anyone in the family. I don't think SG would make a video like that if she felt they were on the precipice of arresting SIL.

But I truly don't know what to think. I just hope they get a resolution at some point soon. Someone in Tucson must've seen something or know something. 😞
Quite contrary, IMHO. Something has changed. Seems to me, she has gotten information that the ransom appears to be proven a scam and not related to her mother's disappearance or just as she was about to hit the button on sending $6 million to someone--LE had to let her in on where they are at in the investigation and it's pointing elsewhere like many here have said. She's now in the loop with LE, so to speak.

Ok, so I'm going down this rabbit hole and now LE approaches and says hey wait a minute--here we have x,y,z. After the initial shock, your like ok. I'm composed I know what to to expect next. We need your help finding mom. Yes, I do believe that she's come to terms that this is a recovery effort based on what LE told her. Now, she's appealing to the public to find mom's body. As morbid as that is to write.
That's how I'm reading this latest video.

All of SG's social media posts on this have been essentially lowercase no capitalization, which is not her usual style at all. She typically posts like a journalist, not a 20 year old girl being poetic. Probably means nothing, but some covering the case have pointed it out and wondered if it was code, or if we're just looking for stuff now.
It is odd, almost like the lowercase in particular is a message of sorts?

If that were the case, there are many other options available than including a nationwide appeal for people to now become involved and start reporting things.

The assumption has been 5pm local (AZ) time, which is two hours behind the east coast. But allegedly the note didn't specify. JMO.
Interesting if this is true that the note didn't specify. Then would definitely feel local but also tells it's not profressionals.

If this was a kidnapping ring that were professional and doing it all over - they would specify.

Or the perps don't know about time zones and it didn't cross their mind. Again, someone maybe not sophisticated?

What if anything do you make of this, @MassGuy ?
Everyone is focused on the deadline tonight, and previous videos have focused on just that (ransom). This seems like a pivot, attempting to rally the public to help resolve this. I think what's done is done in that regard, and now it's time to focus on other avenues.

It'll be interesting to see if any payment is in fact made today.

  • #15,058
I wonder if SG was more put together and made up today because she's been in meetings with her banks and lawyers all day to get the money?

No, allegedly, based on the media leak it was specified as 5pm. We can assume otherwise.

“Multiple ransom notes have been sent out to the media, including one that was sent to us,” JJ McKinney from Tucson ABC affiliate KGUN9 reported.

“In the letter, the potential kidnappers demanded that the Guthries pay them $6 million before this Monday.”

The ransom note writers said Nancy’s Guthrie’s life is in peril if the deadline – set for 5 p.m. local time on Monday – isn’t met, the outlet reported.

I am hoping Savannah sent this last video because they expect or hope the abductor a will be begin to move Nancy back towards Tucson after the ransom is paid and they want people to be watching out because they could be anywhere.
