I think that theory is still the most likely based on statistics and some things we’ve seen (house searches, some signs of a focused investigation).

But I’m open to a scenario like I posted.
Thanks. Sorry for the auto correct typo:
I meant, ✓involvement!

There's a lot to dig into with that!

This stood out to me:

”Aaron Cross is just being Aaron Cross. He is manipulative and he is a liar, OK? He best be careful because the further this goes for him the deeper he’s digging himself,” Nanos said.

Starkville said:
As one of the people obsessed with the “churchgoer call”, I’m observing the latest explanation with a grain of salt. It answers questions but introduces others (for me, at least), which I won’t get into unless others care to discuss.

Why was all this hidden?
**
Agree. The "churchgoer call" seemed significant to me because if family said that's why they went to NG's house and then there's no record of such a call to them, this is a huge red flag.

Many of us have lots of possible theories about all of us, but the huge question for me is as Starkville said, "Why was all of this hidden?". LE hasn't mentioned it since their first presser, took it off their initial timeline and no information been revealed about any of this. MO
Because there's not really a need for law enforcement to disclose information just to satisfy our general curiosity and questions.

Do we know if anyone else attended the dinner on Saturday night?

It's not just streetlights it's the property/home lighting. Good lighting around a house 100% is a deterrent and recommended by police. I live in a wooded area with multi acre properties, no street lights. We had a few break-ins by multiple masked men in the area and the crime unit implored everyone to keep their exterior lights on as they were sneaking up in the cover of darkness It's an area where "the bad guys shop", older people, large properties with long driveways. We have several floodlights (commercial stadium type) on the property (some can be triggered by wifi swithes, some by RF). Bright lighting around the home also helps in camera captures (IR not so great on some residential wifi cam ecosystems).

An ex FBI agent on the scene mentioned:
“What I was immediately struck by was this — the darkness,” retired FBI supervisory special agent James Gagliano
“And the type of cacti, the flora and fauna that are native here in Arizona, for somebody to be able to sneak up in the dark not to be seen or to bring a car in with no lights on the road right behind my shoulder,”

It was a full moon, or close to it, the night of the crime. Usually, this means a person can see pretty well, even without headlights.
I’m in a dark sky area, ( I don’t know if that makes a difference), and on full moon nights, it’s quite a “bright” light from moon.

Yes and when I mentioned that yesterday, I was made fun of. I said yard worker. Regardless of their title, they would know an elderly wealthy woman lived alone and may have known she was related to a top news star at NBC. I mentioned maybe that person owed a cartel and received rude responses. As many years as I have been a member here, I am still amazed at how hateful others can be.
Funny, it’s not so funny today. Glad LE is finally gettting dna from the workers.
I agree with you. Makes you not want to post anything or even answer another poster's question. You would think that before responding to a post, someone would take the time to see what that post was responding to before jumping off with a post implying you don't know what's going on. Happens quite a bit lately probably because the thread is moving so fast. I personally don't think your idea is without merit.

''Clemente, who spent over two decades with the FBI, told Chris Cuomo on NewsNation Tuesday that he hasn’t seen a case “specifically” like this one. He noted that “this one is a little strange because there’s a lot of back and forth and inconsistences.”

He noted that the statements originally were directed towards a kidnapper, and now the statement is directed to the public.

“Typically, the people who do it have some tangential even connection to the victim, they either worked at their property, interacted with them at some work or volunteer situation, but knew that they lived alone and took advantage of it.”

He continued, “If it wasn’t a kidnapping for ransom, then there are other motives that are ‘dark’ and unfortunately very dangerous for such an elderly woman.”

Finally! You know they had to be captured on surveillance at some point. I’m glad we’re getting somewhere. Savannah asked for the public’s help, and LE will make it easier if they give us an idea of what or who people should’ve been looking for.
Yay!

If it was a neighbor, worker, or associate, what would be the motive? Just wanted her dead? Robbery doesn't appear to be the case, and the ransom is secondary and not the original perp(s) imo. If they wanted money, robbery would make a lot more sense than this weird ransom scenario.

Edit: in response to ideas that someone that knew her killed her. Obviously hoping that isn't the case.
If the ransom is a hoax and actually nothing to do with the crime, it could be a sexual motive and the body removed to hide evidence. I really hope not though.

I agree, sadly. Such a motive was nowhere close to what I originally thought, or what many of us were discussing here, until now with the removal of a major financial motive (at least to our knowledge).

It's such a sad and awful thing that this would even have to be considered.

Finally... I feel like this information should have been released within 48 hours of her going missing. JMO
My guess would be they either didn't have this photo or didn't have sufficient confidence that this is who they are really looking for. Now they either have that confidence or they are getting more desperate. Either way I very much hope that this is a break that will lead to Nancy.
