they just said they were told sometime after 12:15 - did they mean local time in AZ or did they mean east coast time?

And do we know where they are releasing the photo from? I'm guessing there's a press conference but don't know where it would be held. Surely they don't just simultaneously send it to various news outlets - would they?
I’m assuming that is ET because it’s currently 10:49 here in MT. Should be any time. JMO

That's really interesting - so no hired help that anyone recognizes, or a neighbor, etc., if true
It could be someone who knows one of the neighbours or workers and has heard about Nancy being there on her own.

If the image is clear enough and the face is visible, the FBI's face recognition software might be able to identify him. I'm hoping an arrest is coming soon. This is just too much!

Sorry just logging in on lunch break. Was it her phone camera she snapped image or from security camera? Does it specify??
I think I’m understanding that it’s from the Nest or ring camera.

Someone that has studied crimes like this, please give some insight or research,

Who removes a body?
  • Someone that feels remorse or shame, correct? Would that apply to anyone she’s known before and interacted with?
  • kidnapping

Secondly, if not a kidnapping, what is the motive? Sexual assault?

I wonder if NG interrupted a potential burglary when she returned home, rather than it being a planned attack on her specifically.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised to hear Nanos say, This is the first time I'm seeing this photo of a possible suspect just like the rest of you.
Someone remind me to not become the victim of a serious crime in Tuscon.

I haven’t been here in a while. May I ask why Fox News is not a reliable source? Did something happen like they erroneously reported something?
yes. Leave it at that.

My heart is pounding at just the thought of seeing this picture. And its not like i'm local and could possibly identify the POI. I can't imagine how the family must have braced themselves before looking at it.

appreciate the info. still don't feel comfortable thinking SG was the golden child....i want to give NG the benefit of the doubt that she loved all her children equally.

moo

Why my post I never posted the words Golden Child!?

I was just expressing it would hurt my feeling but I understand the difference in denominations.

I think A is in a terrible position and her siblings are holding her close.

We care givers appreciate the loving thoughts of siblings and their contributions even if they are not close in location but it can put a strain on a in town care givers marriage more so if the partner is also expected to help, imo.

I in no way took away from NG loving them all its just some can be a lot of fun while others of us are feeling the role reversal that comes with care taking an elderly parent even if they are mostly ok. We worry up close!

all imo

The FBI is now offering a $50,000 reward in the search for Nancy Guthrie, who was reported missing on Feb. 1. CBS News' Andres Gutierrez and Anna Schecter have the latest.

Need this also be said, but have a "break in plan".

In my 20's was staying with a boyfriend and we heard someone coming in through a window in the middle of the night (fortunately it was just his inebriated roommate who lost his key.....) BUT we realized we had no weapons, and no plan in that sort of situation. Both of us sort of froze up.

I think about it now based on where I live, where family lives (the layout of homes, neighborhood, etc.) What would your plan be? Perhaps hitting an emergency app (Noonlight is amazing), having pepper spray or some other weapon near your bed/nearby, having a planned escape route or hiding place, etc.?

Many of us go into fight or flight in scary situations - a plan can be helpful for both in your home and outside of it (in your car, in a public place, etc.) and practicing what you could do while you're mentally sound and not in a moment of panic.
Good reminder - there used to be public service info to plan ahead in case there is a fire at your house (like, think about all your home exit routes). I also read about an earthquake survivor who said - of all things - having shoes near the bed would have been good - he said there was broken glass from things falling and it was dark. I appreciate your idea.
