Someone is crapping in their pants with all of these images coming out!

Thank you for this excellent additional informations. Apparently this position is called the 'appendix carry'. FYI. Can Google for more info.
Indeed it is.

He had it way low though and not tucked in. He seemed to have it concealed first then displayed it out in the open as he approached. Two things with this position, easy access quick draw, and intimidation/brandishing factor.

Still elements of things thrown together for me. Should have been all black, no reflective stripes on backpack, just a wonky rag tag look for a seasoned criminal. Very brazen as well in the approach. Would seem to know exactly what was behind the door (no threat of a dog or guy with a 12 gauge)

Maybe the plant was in case NG looked at her camera in real time, it was the only thing available to him to try to distract the camera from his presence. Poor cover but it must have occurred to him that she might get an alert and see it, spoiling the advantage of ambush from inside the home.

In my opinion...from a mom perspective here...the only way Nancy would've opened the door for that is if they said they had one of her kids and would kill them if she didn't go with them. We don't know what the inside of her house looked like after this crime. So I won't speculate. But I can say with certainty that my 80 year old mama, with similar health issues (pacemaker), would've complied or fought like hell if she thought any of her adult children were in danger.
Where is Nancy!? Bring her home!!

Video of suspect

LIVE: Coverage of Nancy Guthrie investigation | NBC News

Video is near the end for those who want to view it.

So many questions! To me, this brings obsessed fan higher on the list of possibilities. NG was featured a lot on SG’s show. Good way to get SG’s attention.

But how did this person get inside the home? There was no sign of forced entry. And yet, did they seem surprised by the camera?

My opinion:
two pairs of gloves, the hands are moving oddly for someone wearing only nitrile or latex gloves so an added layer with, perhaps, knitted gloves. This might be to prevent leaving fingerprints once the gloves we're seeing are discarded.
The same goes for the clothes. I am thinking two layers so that the ones that might show on camera can be easily discarded and the appearance can be changed.
There is something feminine about the eyes and lips. The mustache looks too groomed to be real. The selection of a mask with two different shades around the eyes is to create the impression that the person might be male or female, but there's something on the upper lashes (moving to the outside of the eyes) that makes me think of rimmel...mascara.
As the person leans forward (quite awkwardly so the contents of the backpack might be heavy?) to pick up the greenery, they look back. This person was probably not alone, but was the person assigned to enter the home while the other idled the engine.

I see a weapon tucked into the front of the waistband, but I might be mistaken.

All my opinions.
IMHO and I'm not an expert but the lashes appear to be those partial lashes to me.

I only heard of them recently as someone was wearing them and I asked them what mascara they used and they told me they were partial lashes.

He approaches the sidewalk from the yard, not the driveway. I wonder if there's a car to the left of this video.

I suppose this is why LE was looking at the ground to the left of Nancy's sidewalk entrance.

Oh my God! I honestly feel nauseated seeing this monster! May God be with the Guthrie family.

Gait shows his left foot turns outward more so than right. Someone is going to recognize this person’s gait and/or clothing.
Would a recent surgery, possibly in the knee, cause that?

wow. Just saw the images/video. So at least we know now, or I think I know now, NG made it home after dinner. And then some unidentified masked and armed individual (Male IMO) crept up in the wee hours and apparently broke into poor Nancy's home.

I might be wrong, but to me it looks like a 'mismatch' of 3 hole balaclava, gloves and jacket. It sounds planned but 'amateurish'.

It was so obvious that the FBI had more then they were actually saying.
Agree. His outfit, mask(s), backpack and gun/holster - plus not anticipating the nest cam - all convey "amateur" to me. MO

And the way he’s wearing the holster is bananas. I agree he’s not a pro.

Good point.

Do we know what time this was recorded?

I wonder if these videos and pics of the suspect at the door are not from right before the crime, but directly after it? Something to throw off LE? Very strange!

On one hand this looks amateurish. On the other hand it was definitely planned. I mean, covered head to toe to avoid shedding skin cells, gloves, mask, disabled the ring doorbell, etc.

Some random things from the photos/video:

-Definitely looks like a mustache in a couple of the photos
-Hard to tell height, but looks relatively tall
-Looks stocky, though individual seems to be moving stiffly, I wonder if they put an extra layer of clothing to make them look stockier than they are
-Anyone identify the jacket brand or backpack brand? See if anyone knows someone who owns them or if they were sold anywhere nearby recently.
-Person does not look in a rush. Granted, the home doesn't look to be on a busy residential street, but they don't seem worried about being spotted and very calm.
-Flashlight in mouth
-Neck fat visible in photos
-Person tries to hide their face as they approach the door... even with the mask on they duck their head as they approach.
-Backpack means brought supplies. I think back to that case in Arizona that happened the day before in Scottsdale where the teens brought supplies as well. Any link between cases?

Just hope he hasn't left the country.
I don't think I trust him to care about NG.

One thing is now absolutely clear: this case will be solved, and rather quickly.
