Great information, observations. From the first pictures, I looked at the feet as well, as when children are kidnapped, kidnappers change clothing, hair color, etc, but the shoes are rarely changed, so always look at the shoes. No expert here, but with all the bulky clothing, I felt the feet looked small, but I haven't heard anything to support that since. I also think the eyes look 'pretty', and the eyebrows are thin...My first impressions.

That picture of Craig Melvin with Nancy is adorable.
She's lived there since the '80s, so maybe her children were living with her back then?

''What we know

  • CROSS-BORDER OUTREACH: There is no evidence that Nancy Guthrie was taken over the U.S.-Mexico border, two officials briefed on the case said. Authorities on both sides of the border have shared information since the start of the investigation, the officials said.
  • ONGOING INVESTIGATION: More than two weeks into the search for Guthrie, 400 investigators continue to work the case, running down thousands of tips and leads, Pima County, Arizona, Sheriff Chris Nanos said. “As long as we have the ability to chase a lead, it’s not cold,” he said.
  • DNA TESTING: There was no match in the FBI's database for DNA from gloves found about 2 miles from Guthrie’s home. Nanos also said partial DNA from the home is being analyzed.
  • MORE SUSPECT DETAILS: Authorities say the man seen in the doorbell camera video is 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall and that he was carrying an Ozark Trail backpack from Walmart and had a unique gun holster. He also may have been wearing a ring.
  • FAMILY CLEARED: All members of the family have been cleared as potential suspects in the disappearance of Guthrie, who was last seen Jan. 31 after having spent time with her family.''

Sorry if already reported... Hard to keep up! I personally am not surprised. If NG is alive (or deceased) she may be in MX. That may explain why there have been no DNA matches, so far, in the U.S databases, if true that is. IMO.

Professional reporters of all types can get info wrong, probably not intentionally, but I have been misquoted in Print media, and have seen some messed up stuff. Anyone can make a mistake, but can cause upset. In cases like this, people can be very sensitive, so I hope they try hard to report correct information.
It’s ok to get things wrong and then correct it like most professionals have been doing when necessary. But I’m talking about people who are not professionals - like a certain someone who cannot be used as a source here… and people who have no background or experience in reporting.

Does the stock Ozark Trail backpack have a magnet attached to the sternum strap? If not, it looks like this guy might have at one point added one, perhaps for a water bladder.

Look at Video 1 starting around 00:20. The strap is magnetically attached to metal (or a magnet) in his pocket. When he bends over, it eventually falls free, then reattaches at 00:26.

Not sure if that's been mentioned before. Probably has!

Their homes are some of the safest in the country right now. They’re basically getting free security. That’s the way I’d feel if I was living there.

MOO
My thoughts exactly! It's great security for the neighbors.

Yes, it does.
She has an impeccable record and used an empirical methodology.
Well, if you put them side-x-side, what I see that's similar is the hairstyle, parted the same way and the length and color of the hair, as well as the style of the moustache/beard. Aside from that, on the LD, I see the eye shape is smaller and slants differently, eyelids are hidden, the space between eye and brow is shorter, with the nose being narrower, shape of jowls/chin is more rounded, the mouth/lips appear thinner with him having no upper lip showing, the shape of the face is oval vs square, as well as the person's race looks different also. At first glance, there appears a resemblance, but under scrutiny many differences. I don't know how closely these sketch artists are expected to get though. MOO

Investigators say they're looking into options for genetic genealogy to help identify the suspect.

i'm sure you guys discussed this at length but it's the first time i'm seeing it...

"Sources told The Times that authorities have no proof the person who authored the ransom note has Guthrie. But they also said that note felt credible because it included details about a specific damaged piece of property and the placement of an accessory in the home that had not been made public."

interesting that LE/media go bananas over a glove, literally flip-flop on forced entry/cameras/et cetera but until tonight, i've never seen this. damaged piece of property? a broken glass/a flipped over chair? what is the meaning of 'the placement of an accessory in the home that has not been made public'? a toothbrush in the toilet? a shoe in the garage?

perhaps this has no meaning, but it stands out to this wascally wabbit...
A smashed/defaced photo of Savannah, perhaps? JMO

What evidence proves NG was NOT taken over the border?

Agreed, but I don’t think someone who knew that there was no subscription, like the person I was replying to was claiming the doorcam guy knew, would have been able to guess that Google would help LE get videos from an unsubscribed user, from their backend cloud storage!

JMO
Well, not everyone knows about all that techie stuff. I certainly do not, and my children tease me all the time about my tech ignorance. Gosh, I took a Typing class in high school, so you can guess how ancient I am. lol

i don't trust levin, FWIW...and i'm sorry i missed that part of the discussion. please provide non-TMZ links and then i'll believe it. TIA!
He saw the note. Among others who saw it early are people at KOLD and one other Tucson news station. They haven’t said much publicly. LE hasn’t said much publicly. Levin’s interview with Cuomo on Newsnation was useful. It’s all linked and discussed earlier in the thread but most of the useful disclosure involves Levin, I’m afraid. He got the initial notes a day or two after the two local stations and went public with some details, but not all.

It’s pretty clear from news reports that many in the media and several former FBI people (including Maureen O’Connell) have seen the notes, but they’re being careful about what they reveal.

The Unabomber case was solved when the perp’s writing style was recognised by his brother. Perhaps the notes will be released if there’s no progress. They’ve been described as well structured and well written.

FWIW, I think Levin is being truthful about the contents. He’s dealing directly with the FBI, and is an attorney. His business is Hollywood gossip, and he’s all about attention, but he’s easily smart enough to not lie about the contents of the ransom note. (Edited to add: if he lied about something, I think he’d be called out by others who’ve seen it.)

The heel of the shoe (which looks to me like an air bag type heel) seems to be reflecting the porch light as there's a whitish spot that rotates around the heel in the video, which makes me think it's a glossy black heel. Also the eyelets at times appear black, but that could be fragmentation. Photos are taken from video stills and are unedited other than cropping and adding the black arrows to point at the highlights on heels and white arrow on eyelets. JMO.

Well, on Fox anyway, this case is not headline, first subject news, anymore. They didn't open with the story. None of the shows the last couple of nights were exclusively just NG for the entire hour. This will make my delusional, love sick, SG stalker mad! Might not be a coincidence that a new ransom note was received. We are about due for another Instagram video from SG, imo. If I am correct that the perp is an unhinged stalker with a fantasy fixation on SG, he is going to need to see her soon! He's restless, for sure, by now! JMO MOO
I rarely watch CNN, but many of the hosts have featured this case at the top of their program. Anderson Cooper did a segment on his show earlier this hour.
