These perps got extremely lucky to not be caught on any camera in the immediate neighbourhood when arriving or leaving. Would almost think that would be impossible in this day and age.
It seems Tucson is very big on privacy rights. Just my impression.
The main intersections don’t even have cameras.
Only businesses and homes.
Homeowners, mainly right at their homes, with large lots, cameras don’t catch the roads.

Does anyone know at what point will all the evidence be available for public record? If the case does go cold with 0 leads, will we be able to see it then?
No they will not release all information. We have a cold case here of a 21 yr old woman who was finally identified by the DNA Doe project. She was murdered in 1984 and still unsolved. Law Enforcement still holds back information for various reasons.

Oh, man. Guys, I think I recognize the vehicle because I OWN ONE!!! I'm just a lady (not a dude) so I'm not super good with car recognition, but I think it's an older model Toyota FJ Cruiser. I have a 2008 FJ Cruiser. In the video linked below, I slowed down the speed to 0.25 and the vehicle that appears around the 2 minute 9 second mark sure looks like an FJ Cruiser to me! Thoughts???

PHOTO OF 2008 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER:
I own an FJ too - but to me, the back end where the tail lights are lit doesn't fit with an FJ. It honestly looks more like a Kia Soul.

OK, it's good to have another perspective. Thank you!

Am I reading too much into the lack of news conferences, updates, and/or pleas for tips from the public? Makes me wonder if they're closer to an arrest than they're letting on.
Good ole Harvey from TMZ sure has been quiet. What? No more ransom letters, Harv?

In the Kohberger case, LE was able to get the make/model of the vehicle of interest, but they got the year wrong. For all the folks here who are good at interpreting videos, what are the odds that LE can figure out at least the make/model?

Man, …for being so dark and residential they appear to be hauling a$$
IMO, definitely not a car, appears silver, metallic grey, tinted . Haven’t had the opportunity to slow it down enough to check rims.

It’s night vision, so the color won’t be true to color.

maybe not. If there isn't, what would be the point of bringing this up?

I'm honestly amazed that any of you can make anything out. Gosh, I only see dark with some lights.

Like in the case of the horrific arson murders of five members of the Diol and Beye families in Green Valley, Colorado in 2020, I wonder if LE could use reverse keyword searches on Google to help perhaps narrow down on or identify any potential POIs in their search of Nancy Guthrie.

For example, if NG was abducted for ransom, perhaps through a warrant, they could use it to obtain the IP addresses of anyone who had searched NG’s address, SG’s salary or net worth prior to or close to NG’s abduction or in the case that the perpetrator/s wanted to keep her alive, help identify if anyone in the Tucson area had searched for information regarding the specific medication NG to take since it was made public that her life depended on it or considering NG’s blood was found outside her door, if anyone in the area searched for any information on how to stop a bleed or treat an open injury in the immediate hours after she was taken from her home. Perhaps, if the ransom notes are legitimate, they could use it to find out if anyone local or in the region had searched for Tucson’s Newspaper or TMZ addresses prior to NG’s disappearance or the correspondences being sent. Perhaps similar to the homicide investigation of Diol and Beye family members, the data could be used in conjunction with cellphone data, camera footage, witness statements and other evidence collected by investigators to rule in and out possible POIs or perpetrators.

Just my own thoughts or speculation

The Wire wrote a really a good article on it

Good odds, if they have images of the car. I agree going fast made the one vehicle stand out.

Bars have to close at 2:00 am in AZ. Tucson is a college town. Bars would be hopping on a Saturday night. In most college towns or cities where there is a nightlife district, LE usually deploys extra officers at closing time. There always numerous calls for fights, assaults, disorderly conduct, etc etc. They also regularly set up DUI checkpoints. The residential neighborhoods are always quieter. Did the perp(s) take this into consideration when planning their escape route?

Yeah, hard to say. We can guess that they're after a silver SUV, but they may not know the exact make/model yet, since C and LD have different types of silver SUVs.

I do think an especially skilled FBI Agent could probably glean the rough make/model through that video, or at least different possibilities, though like in Kohberger's case the exact year may be tricky. Once they have rough possibilities of what it could be, they can comb through other video footage they have and see if they spot their rough guesses anywhere else.

I honestly hope they release what they think it is at some point soon, to hopefully help stir more tips... even silver SUV might be helpful in gleaning tips.

Same. I don’t understand the gif. If they want the public to help identify slow the video down for the public or extract a useable image. Right now it looks like a scene from something out of back to the future. Moo
The heading makes it sound like the owner of the camera is releasing the video, because they weren’t asked for footage by LE. I find it odd they didn’t directly report to LE and just went to a news agency.
Unfortunately, the camera is focused on the cactus and landscape in front, so the cars going by don’t have good video resolution for still images. JMO

I am surprised that the police didn't publicly request anyone who had been out driving in the area that night to speak to them .

Honestly, I can't even tell if the vehicle is white or silver in the video. However, it seems like everyone else can and the fact is that is is silver/gray. I would be terrible in LE.
