In terms of biological relationship I think the baby will likely grow up more confused once they know the truth as assuming any of the other children are fathered by him - the baby is both biologically a sibling of them (same bio dad) and biologically their niece/nephew

I think it matters when referring to him as step not only because of her trauma story and importance to the victims here but because he does not deserve the right to be called her father.

The grandmother of an 11-year-old girl who gave birth last month at her family's Oklahoma home was charged after prosecutors alleged she knew about the pregnancy and failed to report it to authorities.

Michelle Justus, the maternal grandmother of the child, was charged with six counts of felony child neglect, according to the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office. The charges are in connection with the 11-year-old and five other children living at the home.

Attorney information was not listed for Justus. She is being held on a $75,000 bond.

Prosecutors said Justus lives across the street from the family and was the "caretaker" of the children. Court documents allege that she failed to provide adequate supervision and medical care for the children and allowed them to live in deplorable conditions...

I'm even more disgusted now that I've seen their Facebook pages. It's so scary to think that those pictures show healthy, clean, happy kids who seem to be loved and taken care of. What could've gone so wrong? I hope this sweet girl gets to recover and live a happy, fulfilling life but wow, what a rought start in life she's had.
Just catching up. Agree, the grandmother looks so ‘normal’. The mom praising god/church way back is just wild to me. How how how could they be this awful.

Has it been reported whether or not the baby survived?

not that I have seen and I am not surprised at that. Because we are dealing with the SA of a minor resulting in the birth of yet another minor we may not hear anything. I think it safe to assume baby is still living or we would be seeing some sort of charges for the adults involved relating to the death of the infant. But so far, nothing of the kind. JMO

This story has horrified me. I want to sign the papers to adopt that poor baby and give her/him a fighting chance. As an adopted child myself, I know how much of a good thing it can be for a child.

While I am deeply disturbed by all of this, not a single word of it surprises me. This kind of thing happens far too often.

Any punishment they get is not going to make up for what they did to those kids.

This poor girl will live the rest of her life knowing that this was done to her, there is no punishment harsh enough for them.

The worst part of this is that, had she not survived the torture of giving birth with an 11 year old little girl''s immature body, she probably would have been bones and teeth in the ground somewhere and simply erased. Clearly, their only concern was evading discovery.

I had an 11 year old frail, malnourished, abused, traumatized student once who was pregnant by drunk daddy. She never came back to school. Her face haunts me to this day, about 36 years ago now. And I'm particularly reactive to the inhumane not-pro-life beings that feel all such little girls should be forced to carry to term and give birth. Such cruelty has no place in a decent world.

Dustin Walker pled guilty to felony sexual abuse of a child under 12 and six felony counts of child neglect on March 26.
Stepfather raped, impregnated 11-year-old, refused medical attention for childbirth

It's a start. Now let's see what mommy dearest does with her charges. I hope Dustin's sentence is steep indeed and that Cherie's punishment is just as harsh.
It seems a travesty that forcing her to give birth at home with no medical care, anesthesia, medical management of tears or complications etc is simply "neglect" and not outright abuse. That was literally torture and incredibly life threatening.
