I don’t have a link, but on WVTM, his attorney said they will appeal & will use Aniah’s Law to show it was already determined their client was guilty.
His attorneys make me angry!
I will say this...if IY didn't have the criminal history he has, I could see where there's a possibility of others being involved. However, IY has an extensive history of violent crimes. I'll be curious to see if they appeal and what that process looks like

I don’t think these charges have been resolved:
IY was charged with murder & attempted murder of a man & woman. Alleged he was killed in the woods.

There’s a lot of chatter about IY being convicted without “DNA evidence”. Hello, DNA is fairly new from a historically perspective & lots of crimes were solved without DNA.

The state said in closing arguments that he was on video getting out of and into her vehicle. So there's proof he was in her vehicle. So they don't need DNA to prove he was in her vehicle. Summarized what he said but he made it clear that just because they didn't find DNA didn't mean he wasn't there

There is so much information coming out and going around about his criminal history. I can't post here because it's not verified

Here are the other 2 cases he was charged - don't know what happened to these.

AL – Ibraheem Yazeed was out on bond on charges of attempted murder & 2 counts of 1st degree kidnapping, 2 counts of 1st degree robbery & possession of marijuana in connection with a January 2019 crime. According to court records, two male victims – one of them 77-years-old - were held against their will in a hotel room (SureStay Motel) in January 2019 on the 1200 block of Eastern Blvd. The older man was beaten until “unconscious, unresponsive, severely injured and near death” & robbed of a Rolex, rifle, handguns, wallet, bank card, clothing & unknown amount of currency. The other man was also beaten & robbed of at least $40. Bond was $295K has been revoked (12/5/19). Montgomery County

*AL – Stephen Hamby (29) (Dec. 1, 2018, Montgomery) & injured Geraldine Talley (54) shot in face, but later died of natural causes - *Ibraheem Yazeed (29/now 34) charged (6/25/20) with murder & attempted murder. Montgomery County

There’s several news articles about IY’s violent criminal charges. That’s the reason Aniah’s Law was passed in AL.

I don’t know the status of the charges.

Yes, this is why Aniah’s Law was passed in Alabama.

Angela Haley-Harris said it took her days to process the conviction because it wasn't what the family wanted. She said the trial was traumatic for her family, but she wanted to thank supporters.

"What I will say is you may not understand, and some people may not understand how we feel about the verdict, and some do," Haley-Harris said. "But we waited six and a half years to get justice for Aniah and when you have three counts of capital murder – and there's some things I can't say, I'm going to have to wait, they still don't want me to say a lot of things right now – when you have three counts of capital murder and you think you can count on people to get it right, you think you can count on them to get it right – because he was facing the death penalty or life without parole – of course, nothing will bring our beautiful Aniah back and those sentences weren't really even good enough, right?

"But I want to tell you our feelings and why we feel like we do right now," she continued. "I'm not going to go into the details of the trial, just know it was traumatic – and some of you that were there know – and then to get the verdict of felony murder and murder, and knowing that he is not going to get the death penalty and he's not going to get life without the possibility of parole. I know he's now going to get out, but my daughter deserved for him to get the maximum punishment. Maximum punishment. So, it felt like justice wasn't served."

Attorneys for Ibraheem Yazeed, who was convicted of felony murder and murder in the kidnapping and killing of Aniah Blanchard, are asking a judge to block outside communication ahead of his sentencing.

In a motion filed in Macon County Circuit Court, the defense argues that social media posts from members of the victim’s family have encouraged the public to send letters and emails directly to the judge, urging the maximum sentence.

The filing claims those messages constitute improper “ex parte” communication — meaning they occur outside the formal court process — and could unfairly influence the court’s decision. Defense attorneys argue that sentencing should be based only on evidence, testimony and legally permitted victim impact statements presented in court.

The motion is still pending, and the judge has not yet ruled.
