Copies of the article need to be mailed to every parent in the world. The way Buchanan operated is so typical of the molester - win the parents' and kids' affection, surround the kids with toys their parents probably can't afford to buy, afford them a fun time - trips, staying up late, movies, the like. And if the molester can pick parents who are so poor and indebted to him or her....gosh, it's icing on the cake!

This guy is scum of the earth and has nothing to contribute to society. So he's throw-away material as far as I'm concerned.

First thing I will push for on my campaign for President is the DP for all child molesters. Next, DP for any offenses be it murder or molestation be enforced within 72 hours of conviction. And I'll start with this !

I agree! Death/ or LWOP to all child molesters and no slaps on the wrists to those who didn't kill the child or to those who try and say that an older child was agreeing to the encounters. Thank God the people at the border finally caught this monster. Those poor kids will grow up and be so confused and traumatized. The monsters need to be stopped and no wishy washy baloney used in dealing with them and these latest judges who do nothing should be run out of town on a rail after being tarred and feathered.

Ron Baker, a distant cousin who lives in Arkansas, said he was shocked by the allegations. Baker said Buchanan, whom he referred to as "Uncle Earl," became his legal guardian after his mother died when he was 7.

Baker said while he lived with his grandparents in California, Buchanan would send him money to pay for clothes and food. When he left the Army and moved back to Arkansas, Buchanan helped him buy a home.

"He always took care of me. When I got in a bind, I'd call him up. I can't say nothing bad about the guy," Baker said.

Buchanan's brother, Winford, of Las Vegas, said Thursday that the two siblings have been estranged for two years.

"I hope he ends up paying for crimes he's been charged with," he said, declining to comment further.

Bill and Kathy Buchanan, the Arkansas couple, said they thought it was strange when Earl Buchanan visited them about three years ago with two girls, about 11 and 13 years old. Buchanan wanted to adopt the older girl because she came from a troubled background, the couple said.

"I said, 'You've got to be out of your mind,' " Bill Buchanan recalled.

About six months earlier, Buchanan had brought a boy about 12 to Arkansas. The couple said they had not had the same concerns that time because Buchanan acted like a big brother to the boy, who, they were told, was from a poor family.

Earl Buchanan has been married three times and has two sons and one stepson, the Arkansas relatives said.

We will probably never know the full extent of the damage Buchanan has done. My fear is that creeps like this usually like to share...so I'd be checking into what company he keeps and rein in everyone that is involved. Can you imagine the guilt the parents must be feeling?

I'm curious as to where you read that into what was in the article?

I'm interested in this case due to reasons I won't post at this time, BUT I will say that IMO we have not heard the last of Earl's deeds and who also may have been involved.

Read between the lines in the estranged brother's reponse to the news of his brother's arrest. He's basically saying "I hope he burns in hell". Compare that to another family member who claims "The police have no evidence". His brother clearly knew about Buchanan's procilivities before his arrest. How? And why the estrangement this late in life if he'd known all along?

At one time there were four male Buchanan's listed at the address where Earl has his business, Winford being one of those names.

I'm guessing here, but the other names listed are probably sons of either Earl or Winford. It was stated that Earl had two sons of his own.

Earl Buchanan holds a valid Contractor's license in:C10 Electrical; C20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating & Air-Conditioning and a B General Building Contractor. I'm again guessing that his brother Winford worked for him along with living on the property. Whatever part Winford played in all this, if any, will eventully come out.

I bet the family members associated with Buchanan Enterprises have been aware of what's been going on all along, and maybe even prior to the recorded complaint back in 2000.

If neighbors and ex-employees were suspect of Earl, I don't feel out of line by saying the family knew for sure!

The ones who seem to have no preference re the gender of their victims tend to be the pedos who prey on very young children, usually the ones under 5.

Most laypeople seem to think simply because they have never walked in on a person actively raping a child or haven't found pictures or videos of them doing so, some how they have no grounds to go to the authorities about suspected child sexual abuse. That was the mindset i ran into re the pedo I had the misfortune of knowing. Virtually everyone suspected him, but since they had never caught him in the act, they though there was nothing they could do about it.

Very strange that his now 65 year old brother has never brought this to the attention of the LE but was aware of it all these years.

It just doesn't ring 'true', he just now says something after Earl was arrested, come on now

In my opinion if he had even been a little bit suspect of Earl he would have been astranged from him far beyond the two years he states.

This case will now involve both San Bernardino & Riverside counties and my hope is that they don't drop the ball and will persue investigation into this case.
