Yeah that’s a huge height range. I’m 5’2” and someone who’s 4’8” goes up to my shoulder, maybe a little above. Too big a difference I would say. She seemed recognizable enough at least to me that they could measure her?

I assume from something found on or with the deceased. An id or bank card, or an engraved piece of jewellery.

Sometimes with rough sleepers, they'll have names they were known by amongst other rough sleepers or at outreach places, but this Doe doesn't seem like she was experiencing housing insecurity. She's not wearing multiple layers, she's got plenty of jewellery, and she was shaving her intimate areas. The latter in particular doesn't sound like a priority if you've got nowhere to sleep.

I agree with you that she doesn't seem like a transient. She was also wearing $90 Nike sneakers, even though it's possible she could have gotten them cheap at a thrift store or found them somewhere, depending on the condition they were in. A 3 youth size equates to about a women's size 5, so she was definitely small.

I wonder if she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs... it is strange that she was standing in the middle of the highway with her hands up in the air at 5 a.m. Also seems like an odd pose for an intentional suicide situation.

A man named Michael Perry in an unidentified people Facebook group said Jane Doe is his sister, 26-year-old Kaitlyn Taylor Griffin. He said he identified her based on a birthmark and they were having her cremated in Los Angeles and sent back to Kansas City, where her family lives. He said her family hadn't heard from her in about a month and she was living with a man in LA. Her familycontacted the man and he told them they broke up in July.

I'm not sure if this was ever verified. I'm not finding anyone by that name and age in public records.

Looks like there's a bit of discrepancy between NamUs and the ME's website. ME says she is less than 5' tall.

58” = 4’10”, so she does fall into the range but…. Why not just put 4’10” instead of 4’8”-5’2”, huh ME? Seems odd if they ACTUALLY HAD HER MEASUREMENTS to give a range.

personally, to me, this just shows me for some reason someone is feeding false information about this case. But in a case like that, beyond just trying to make clout, i don't have a clue what the point would be.

But people can suck sometimes and do things just to be jerks. so who knows.

I would agree with this. The guy also joined the Facebook group back in April 2024, months before Jane Doe was even killed.

this means nothing to anyone, but there was a slim chance i knew the deceased. It is not the person i thought it could be.

And as an aside; it's crazy scrolling namus randomly one morning and being unsure if the person you're looking at is someone you once knew.

The decedent was involved in an auto vs. pedestrian traffic collision on the northbound I-5 freeway near Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles on the morning of 9/15/2024. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The decedent appears to be a white female under the age of 30 with short red/auburn and hazel eyes. She is less than 5' tall and was wearing a youth size 3 Nike Air Force 1 tennis shoes. She has light red freckles throughout her body. The decedent was wearing a chain necklace and multiple rings, bracelets, and hair ties worn as bracelets.

Did they post the Number from the shoe? You can track those somewhat.

i just realized this could have been taken as an "AI call out". As someone who understands all the drama there, please understand that is not what I meant at all. I was impressed by it, and assumed you built this out using some kind of tool or repository of 'stock' images. Wanted to know the process kinda question <3

That does seem really weird. I’ve never experienced the feeling of scrolling and finding someone I think I knew, but I have heard of some UIDs my family had maybe mentioned someone similar to, but not any I knew of myself. I would never forget if I had ever seen one of my family members, acquaintances, friends, anyone I knew, on there.
