"A 66-year-old Palo Alto woman who is considered at risk because she needs prescription drugs for a medical condition has been missing since Friday, police said Monday.

Wamaitha Kaboga-Miller was last seen Friday at Country Time Market at 2200 University Ave. in East Palo Alto making a purchase.

Kaboga-Miller's husband last saw her on Friday morning. He didn't return home until about 7 p.m. that day and assumed she was visiting friends, De la Vega said. When he woke up the next morning and found she wasn't home, he alerted authorities.

Kaboga-Miller is described as a 5-foot, 1-inch tall black woman weighing about 120 pounds, according to a missing person flyer. Police said she was last seen wearing a black puffy vest over white long-sleeved shirt and light-colored pajama pants.

Investigators believe she's driving a silver 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK with California license plate number DP241LU, police said. The vehicle also has a handicap placard, according to a missing person flyer.

Kaboga-Miller is recovering from surgery and may be wearing a black back brace, according to the flyer."

Friends, strangers join search for missing Palo Alto woman
The Kaboga-Miller family consulted with a private investigator to strategize the daylong search for their relative and her car, a silver 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK coupe with license plate DP241LU. It was last seen exiting the Country Time Market and driving east on University.

Dozens of volunteers were sent to canvass the blocks immediately adjacent to the Country Time Market as well as to the Palo Alto Baylands. In addition to posting and handing out flyers, searchers were instructed to look in all parking lots and also for signs of a car driving off the road, such as tire tracks and broken branches.

CHP refuses to put information on electric freeway signs about missing Palo Alto woman - Palo Alto Daily Post
The sons of a Palo Alto woman who has been missing for nearly two weeks want their mother’s name and information broadcast to drivers via the electronic billboards along Highway 101, but the CHP has turned them down.
According to the letter, the CHP will not post information about missing seniors because “we have found that overuse of the system when it is unlikely to be effective desensitizes the public to the signs.”

While drivers on Highway 101 will not be seeing information about Wamaitha, CHP is keeping an eye out for her car on license plate reader records in the region.

Sadly, I think this woman pulled her car over or crashed it somewhere and hasn’t been found. It’s a highly populated area, so it’s more likely she parked and will be found expired in her car. Sorry to be so gloomy, but that seems most likely.

Body of missing Palo Alto woman found near Dumbarton Bridge

The body of a Palo Alto woman last seen more than five weeks ago was discovered Sunday afternoon in a silver Mercedes-Benz that was covered in heavy brush off Highway 84 near the Dumbarton Bridge, authorities said.

[....]

At 3:05 p.m. Sunday, California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a different vehicle that had gone off the eastbound highway east of Thornton Avenue, according to CHP Officer Manuel Leal. About 25 feet away, the officers spotted a second vehicle, the Mercedes-Benz, amid heavy brush and trees.

The officers located a woman deceased in the driver’s seat. She was later identified as Kaboga-Miller. Authorities said she had been at that location “for an extended period of time.”

how terrible. her vehicle wasn't pictured crossing the bridge so her family didn't search the east side. but I believe the tolls is only going westbound, so do they take pics going east?
