This is a daily meme I see:

When you find it, there are comments. Just about every day someone says the truck driver has fled. It's not evidence, but where there's smoke there's fire and it explains the lack of press releases.

An Alberta teen has arrived at a Philadelphia hospital for spinal rehabilitation, after he was paralyzed by a bus crash that killed many of his hockey teammates in April.

Nineteen-year-old Ryan Straschnitzki was transported by a private plane, and then ambulance to the Philadelphia's Shriners Hospital for Children Thursday. The cost of the trip and treatment will be covered by the Shriners.

"We're here to help him become as independent and as functional as possible, and to gain as much recovery as he can. He'll work with physical therapy and occupational therapy … we will train him to do as much as he can on his own and try and get him as functional as possible," said Shriners nurse care manager Kimberly Curran.

Good luck with your rehabilitation Ryan we are all rooting for you.

Rooting for him indeed!

Is it okay to link to their GoFundMe page now, since it's not accepting donations anymore? It has had an update about how the money will be divided.

I think it should be ok given it’s not an active campaign anymore.

There sure are a lot of people posting on that site that believe that there is a coverup going on in this investigation. And that the driver has been permitted, with the knowledge of LE and/or federal officials, to leave the country.
A coverup seems far fetched to me. But every day that passes with no announcement or action by LE in this case brings out even more conspiracy comments and theories being made by many posters.
Like most people I am sure, I shudder to even contemplate the possibility that there could or would be federal interference or influence being exerted on the RCMP investigation of this case, and/or the timing of the release of the results of the investigation.
The next federal election in Canada is not until October 2019.

Here is a story in the National Post today about a federal government/military inquiry and investigation into the deaths of three young men in Canada at Royal Military College. The investigation concluded over a year ago and the release of the results has been stalled, ostensibly for political reasons, or to cover someone’s a**. In the meantime the families wait, with no answers and no closure.

Families of three deceased military college students demand answers from Ottawa

Further to this particular update about Xavier LaBelle, here is a video posted by a family member of photos from Xavier's first 2 months' of recovery, along with his statement upon release from hospital. I dare you not to get a tear in your eye.

It's so amazing what he's come through and he is so well spoken. (He also happens to be a great pianist. I hope the nerve damage in his arm or his brain injuries don't prevent him from creating the beautiful music he used to.)

Well, I lost that dare...

Very generous of him to post such an update, we would all love to know how these survivors are doing, and we all respect we aren't owed anything, but it's sure nice to see. Bestest wishes for further recovery Xavier, and love the new haircut. :)
