I'm trying to find out the source of an update on this website (that I've never heard of before I saw it linked on Facebook). Mainly, tips have come in from Surrey as well, and Mekayla may be using the alias Dallas.

There is a report with a sighting and a picture, sounds like the RCMP are investigating.

"Recently, a girl matching Mekayla's description was seen on the Skytrain in Vancouver.
RCMP confirm they have received the tip and it is part of the ongoing investigation."

Mekayla was last seen at the STC Bus Depot in Yorkton at 1:45 p.m. on April 12, 2016. She went to school in the morning, but left shortly after arriving. She went to several businesses in Yorkton throughout the morning, then returned to school around noon. She bought lunch at the restaurant in the bus depot, but did not get on a bus that day. Mekayla left the bus depot in the early afternoon and hasn't been seen since.

Revisiting Mekayla's case today, and I thought I would share my thoughts.

I was reading an article on CJME.

And Mekayala's mom had indicated she tried texting Mekayla after they couldn't locate her after school.

"She tried texting her daughter, but soon Paula found herself at the RCMP detachment reporting her daughter missing."

Mekayla, is commonly shown in news articles holding her cellphone, on surveillance video, on the day she vanished.
I began looking in to the cell towers in the Yorkton area, and this is what I found so far.

There is a cluster of several towers in the city of Yorkton of course, then there is a perimeter of towers, surrounding the town, on average within 25 km or so, as would be common in rural Saskatchewan.

This is an image of tower locations.

I created a map with 15km radius circles around these locations.

As the RCMP have never indicated that there was a specific area of the search, I am thinking that her cell phone must have been turned off, sometime in the afternoon, when she disappeared. If it would have been on, it would have registered on one of these towers on the perimeter of Yorkton, and as such there would have been a specific direction of travel.

This information would have been recovered from tower dumps from Sasktele, which would have undoubtedly been requisitioned.

It may be a possible then that Mekayla or someone she was traveling with, was aware of tower dumps, and her phone most likely was turned off, prior to traveling outside the Yorkton area, specifically to conceal this geo-location.

Also something to consider would be that someone from outside the area coming in and leaving around 1:45 on the day of Mekayla's disappearance, would have to register in this perimeter of towers, and in the towers located inside the city limits.

There apparently has been another sighting of Mekayla, this time near Calgary Alberta.

The Tosguna Tsuut'ina Nation Police Service, is reporting on their Facebook page that there may have been a possible sighting of her on January 20, 2017.


The Tosguna Tsuut'ina Nation is located west of Calgary, Alberta.

They have published a poster, and other information on their facebook page.

As I am unclear about the rules linking to social media, I have posted all the links, and the poster on the front page of my blog.
So that everyone can research it for themselves.

I hope this lead pans out for Mekayla, and her family, as she has been missing now for almost a year.

I've read quite a lot on the Mekayla Bali case and I continue to look for any updates. I haven't read about a variety of men claiming to be Mekayla's father but for men to do that who don't even know her in the slightest is indeed disturbing to say the least. In any of the articles that I've read and interviews that I've seen/listened to with her Mother there has been absolutely no mention of any Father being involved in her life at all. The only person who mentioned anything that I know of in relation to being her Father seems to be a guy by the name of 'Rick Breit', who refers to Mekayla as his 'daughter' in the post that I had read. I found this post through a Facebook posting at the 3 month stage of her disappearance and he even provided his cell number as well. I'm not sure if you have also seen it but I've provided the link below.

Thank you for your reply back and for providing the links. I had already read all of those articles previously. What I had meant in my previous post was that Mekayla's mother Paula had not mentioned a Father being involved. I was replying to the poster 'Paulasomebody' who had said that there were men as in a few men claiming to be her Father and I had mentioned that I only was aware of one guy being her Father via his Facebook post.

You are exactly right that there was a sighting of Mekayla according to the Tosguna Tsuut'ina Nation Police Service Facebook Page. It states that 'It is believed that Mekayla was in attendance at an event on January 20, 2017 at the Grey Eagle Entertainment Centre' (Grey Eagle Resort and Casino) in Calgary. That tip is currently being investigated. The posting date according to their Facebook post is February 15, 2017, fairly recent. Something interesting to note is that the Tosguna Tsuut'ina Nation Police Service themselves said that in this particular case, she (Mekayla) was last seen 'on' the Tsuut'ina Nation (reserve). Their original post did not originally indicate that she was last seen in or around the residential area of the reserve itself, 'only' at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino. That said, they seem to be fairly adamant that she's in the immediate vicinity of Tsuut'ina Nation itself and not solely at the Grey Eagle. Hopefully, if all goes well through this investigation, Mekayla will be found.

Yes its a little interesting, there is an obituary for a man by the name of Gerald Paul Niebergall, in Yorkton Sk. It states the following in part

"Gerald Paul Niebergall, late of the Yorkton & District Nursing Home, formerly from Churchbridge, SK passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Minnie and Henry Niebergall of the Kipling District, SK.
He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda and Paula of Yorkton, SK "

Mekayla's mom's name is Paula, and she has an aunt named Rhonda. Both Paula and Rhonda have the last name Bali.

Now I don't know for a fact that these are the same Paula and Rhonda Neibergall / Bali, but it would be quite a co-incidence if it wasn't

It looks like the bus depot might be both STC and Greyhound, which means more busses/destinations. I can't seem to find a schedule of arrivals for Yorkton. That would be handy!

I went on the greyhound website and searched tickets all buses coming in from the east Toronto Ottawa Hamilton arrive at 4:30 am buses coming from the west Edmonton Grand Prairie arrive at 1:20 pm Calgary Vancouver arrive 1:35pm which would fit the time line of getting off the bus collecting your bag from the bottom and leaving bus Station by 1:45 if she was waiting for someone. I guess STC busses only travel around Saskatchewan?

The Sask RCMP Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/SaskatchewanRCMP/) posted many first person point of view statuses on April 12, a year from when she went missing. A bunch of 1 year on news articles have come out this week. The important thing I'm reading from then is that the RCMP isn't talking at all about possible sightings, whether or not if they are even credible. The RCMP is concentrating on trying to get people who saw her the day she went missing to come forward. I'm reading that as no sightings have been credible and it comes down to who she met that day and that they're sure someone other than a possible perp knows something. A classmate, an online friend, or even an unrelated witness in Yorkton. I'm also guessing that they think she is close to home.

(Off topic, but does anyone else find it annoying when people share a Facebook status about a missing person and then clog up the comments with 'shared in [city name]'? It's not helpful, it just makes you feel good. Going through 1000 Facebook comments to see if anyone has any actual news or opinions on the case gets difficult.)
