GUILTY CO - Angela Craig, 43, mother of 6, allegedly poisoned by cyanide in protein shake by dentist husband, Aurora, Mar 2023 @2

[…]

The verdict comes after more than 10 days of testimony, 48 witnesses and eight hours of deliberation at the Arapahoe County Courthouse.

Craig, who stared stone-faced at jurors as verdicts were read, faces life in prison at his sentencing by 18th Judicial District Judge Shay Whitaker. Defense attorneys asked for immediate sentencing after the verdicts were read.

Whitaker agreed and in addition to the life sentence Craig received: 18 months in prison for each count of solicitation to commit tampering with physical evidence; three years each for two counts of solicitation to commit first-degree perjury; and 24 years for solicitation to commit first-degree murder. Those 33 years of prison time are to be served consecutively with the life sentence, not concurrently.

Craig will never get out of prison.

I wish, for someone like this who's proven he's not above trying to circumvent the penal system, he would lose comms privileges or something. What's to stop him from trying revenge again, particularly against the detective (and detective's son son) for whom it seems he has a personal issue.

I totally agree. Today was the first I’ve heard about him wanting a photo taken of a child and it was chilling.

"Elders Quorum President"

Lauren does a deep-dive into the couple's family/ life and their financial problems and debt are over the top.
Complete opposite except for the IRS debt (350.00) that Lauren says in her video from last night with Josh Ritter.
Confusing indeed,

He was Elders Quorum President? Yeah, nah.

In a congregation, basically, the Elders Quorum President is responsible for the organisation and teaching of the adult men in Sunday school classes. Not anything high ranking about it. Not bishopric level, not stake (area) level. He's a Sunday school teacher, essentially, and helps organise the men in his ward to do projects to help out the congregation and community if needed.

Good to see the jury do the right thing.
He had a good living and a devoted wife & family, and he threw it all away.

Eta : Enjoy your new life in prison, DC; you could have filed for divorce and walked away.

I think JC has replaced Chris Watts as the husband, father, I'm most repulsed by. The guy had no quit, and you know he can't wait to set up his JPal account and start corresponding with his fan girls ASAP. Maybe he'll offer to spread the love-- hand off his rejects to his cellmates.

After he clears reception, I wonder if he'll end up with Patrick Frazee in Arkansas Valley or destined for Canon City.

Can you imagine being Angela's surviving child? I think I would have spent the past couple of years vacillating in anger between dad and the hospital--trying to grasp why they didn't detect the poison earlier.

I wonder if there was a bias here about the patient? Angela didn't fit the profile of a substance abuser or somebody being abused? Did they ask her those intake questions designed to get a feel for your home life? Except each time Angela returned to the hospital after being discharged and going home, she came back with similar but elevated symptoms!

Probably not a bad idea for everybody to add to their physician's directive-- "Check me for signs of poisoning-- and don't wait until autopsy"....!

Thank you @iamshadow21 -- he could probably wear his mask loosely in that crowd.

This point gets to me. When the detectives intercepted this delivery of Oleandrin, what made them do that, and what did they do once they had it. I can't grasp what made them intercept this delivery, how did they even know he had ordered it.

I just can't get my head around that. Surely with even a glimpse of suspicion they didn't appear to do anything about it. Which surely had they done, and asked JC about it, then possibily JC would not have carried on buying poison as he would have known there was suspicion he was up to something.

(Saying that knowing as we all do now, and sure believed before he was charged, he would have found another way, as sure as heck he wanted to take Angela's life. Because he is an evil evil murderer).

This was an order JC made on March 6th from the dentists office computer in room 9.

Craig orders oleandrin from Adooq Bioscience, according to the probable cause affidavit. The compound had come up when Craig had searched lists of the world’s deadliest plants, Brackley said. Detectives intercepted the package before it could be delivered.

  • From CNN News!. March 6: Angela Craig, back from Utah, drinks a protein shake her husband made for her. She works out but starts to feel “strange.” James later leaves work to take Angela to the hospital where she has tests including an MRI, CT scan and bloodwork, but she is sent home after nothing is found, Brackley said. Later in the evening, Craig orders oleandrin from Adooq Bioscience, according to the probable cause affidavit. The compound had come up when Craig had searched lists of the world’s deadliest plants, Brackley said. Detectives intercepted the package before it could be delivered.

^^rsbm

It seems to me that JC ordered the Oleandrin around 3/6, but detectives would have no knowledge of this until around 3/15 when Dr Redfearn learned about the delivery of potassium cyanide to JC and advised the hospital staff at UC Health caring for AC.

This is when Police were contacted, and the investigation got rolling with the search warrants and seizure of JC's computers, downloading his Google search history, etc., including the purchase of Oleandrin and the detective's ability to intercept the delivery-- which was probably ceased as evidence. We know Angela was removed from life support and pronounced dead on 3/18, and I believe JC was arrested and charged with her murder on 3/19. JMO

Guilty on all counts that matter!

We wouldn't want him found guilty of manslaughter/assisting suicide (count7)! ;)
