Doesn’t this already have a thread here? The NamUs file is new, but I 100% remember reading about the give a damn panties somewhere on the Doe Network, possibly under a different date than what’s in NamUs.

Hi, this Doe already has a separate thread. I emailed them last week about GIVE A DAMN and received this email today from Broward County:

Good afternoon,
We looked into this case and entered it into NamUs. It appears the decedent is buried and no DNA has been able to be collected and entered at this time.

Added to NamUs today as #Up156638 under the August 19th, 1973 date (it appears the May 21 date seen in some sources is an error).

Yeah, I was able to find it after some keyword searching. The date used on the Doe Network page is May 21, which is wrong.

Hey Guardians,

It’s time for the next Guardian Zoom call, and we’re splitting it into two sessions so more people can join.

Friday, March 20
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern

Saturday, March 21
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern

Drop in anytime during those hours.
What will we talk about? Plenty.

You’ll get the inside scoop on what’s happening behind the scenes at Websleuths. Guardians always hear it first.

We also want to hear your wildest true-life story. And yes, I’ll be telling the story about how Dick Van Patten once saved my life. I realize that’s a tough act to follow, but I’m confident someone out there has something just as good.

And of course, we’ll cover a whole lot more.

Remember, you do not need to use your real name. Just use your Websleuths username.

Want to join the Zoom call and help keep Websleuths ad-free? Become a Guardian for just $3 a month.

I always double-check before starting a new thread and the NamUs case didn’t come up in the search results. I also checked the Doe Network and no unidentified females were listed on August 19, 1973.
My apologies for the duplicate thread.

Hoping to get the ball rolling as this case really stuck with me since I found out about it last week. This doe would be a great contender for DNA analysis IF they still know where she is buried.

Doe is so short, even with decomposition in mind, potential matches on NamUs are few and notable. PMI says 3 weeks to 6 months; I'm not from a hot humid place like Florida, but imo a body (and especially one in a canal) probably would be skeletonized pretty fast? Also see the pictures of the state of her clothing and shoes. 6 months seems like a big stretch to me, but again I'm not from the area.

Here are some potential matches who are Caucasian appearing females, around the age range, that aren't too tall in order from highest similarity to Doe:

Gail Joyner The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
13y/o, missing September 1972 from Florida

Bonita Mara Bickwit The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
It was pointed out earlier in this threat specifically that GIVE A DAMN was "part of the campaign of the New York Urban Coalition" in the late 1960s. Bonita Mara Bickwit was said to be very intelligent for her age, so is it possible somehow that this could be her repping her home state? Sounds strange for a 15 year old, but on a Youtube video about the campaign a commenter says he remembers the campaign from his childhood.

Victoria Bowers Victoria Elizabeth Bowers – The Charley Project
17 y/o, missing May 1973 from Florida

Judie Lynn Davis Judy Lynn Davis – The Charley Project
15 y/o, missing May 1972 from Florida

Kathleen Edna Rodgers Kathleen Edna Rodgers – The Charley Project
15 y/o, alleged runaway, missing March 1973 from California

Pamela Jean Spencer The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
20 y/o, hitchhiker, missing Jan 1973 from California

Helen Irene Allison – The Charley Project
16 y/o, missing May 1972 from Virginia

The conflictual dates are problematic when so many possible matches the best thing to go on is a date!! And then size. So was it May or was it August 73?

There is another Florida case which dates to August 1973, that of Altamonte Springs "Ginger" Doe. She has her own thread here on Websleuths. She has only recently been identified through genetic DNA comparison.

Davie is 225 miles from Altamonte Springs Florida. The Altamonte Springs "Ginger" Doe's body was found under the body of an identified woman named Laura Lynn Harberts. Both bodies had been dismembered and thrown in a garbage dump.

The prime suspect in those murders was Joseph "Crazy Joe" Spaziano, a member of the Outlaws motorcycle gang.

Spaziano was convicted of first degree murder in the Herberts case and sentenced to death. In considering the death sentence, the judge noted that Spaziano was a suspect in 4 other murders,, several bombings and a violent rape.

A legal appeal got the murder conviction and death sentence overturned and Spaziano pled guilty to second degree murder. He is currently serving a life sentemce in the Florida prison system.

Another unidentified female murder victim was found in Davie in May 1973. She also has a Websleuths thread.

Could these cases be connected?
