Yes, we learned on 7/25 from WFTV that he left County Jail, and is now in the custody of Florida's Dept of Corrections. An inmate can spend up to four weeks in "Reception" before they are transferred to their permanent, forever home. Reception serves as Orientation for the inmate to classify them for placement, testing, and medical examinations, etc.

State records show Stephan Sterns has begun his life sentence. And with that comes a new mug shot.

The Florida Department of Corrections show that Sterns, 39, is in the Central Florida Reception Center.

This confirms he's still in Reception (Central Florida Reception Center), pending his placement in his forever home.

Maybe because since he is being held in reception (intake) until he is processed and assigned a permanent spot? I don't know.

Usually the judge has some choice words for a defendant like him. Did this judge at least say something during sentencing? (I didn't watch.)

I also am shocked SS was allowed to give that statement. Madeline was failed yet again.

At least she knew her biological father and stepmother loved her.

I probably need to rewatch the Court TV feed of sentencing because I don’t recall the Judge saying anything after the statement SS made.

My guess is, he'll end up at Starke. Florida State Prison located in Starke, FL.

My ex husbands cousin was the captain of the marine patrol in Monroe County (lower Keys). He was a foster parent to young boys...... it did not end well. Thankfully, those boys ratted him out. He died in Starke at 54 y/o.

Someone pointed out to me that none of JS's family members who made victim impact statements mentioned JS, not even by referring to her as Madeline's mother.

I think that is something I noticed subconsciously, but didn't put my finger on until now.

I think they might be court fees. On his CSAM case it says:

$50 is outstanding on 2024 CF 000643, and $666 is outstanding on the murder case. With that said... they don't add up. lol The total of those 3 cases is $11,749, yet the max for the judgements is $10,500 ($10K + $2500), so dunno.

Copies of the 2 civil judgements was requested on 8/1, so hopefully we'll know more soon.

Would that be the value of the car that he used to transport MS? It’s evidence and likely has zero value so someone is out a vehicle.
